Seapot Hot Pot & Bar offers conveyor belt style AYCE hot pot, perfect for big parties. Service ranges from okay to good. Meats are served quickly, with three delicious hot pot flavors available, including exceptional tomato, mushroom, and Tonkatsu soup bases. Vegetarian options include various noodles, veggies, and a good variety of tofu, like the puffy rectangles that soak up the soup. The meats and seafood are very fresh, especially the baby scallops and shrimp, which come shelled or with the shell. The clean sauce counter is a plus, but the waitlist can be a nightmare.
Some find it expensive, but others enjoy the galbi-marinated short rib, though the brisket can be tough. The Soju mix by strawberry, peach, and guava is awesome. It’s semi self-service—raw meat and soup bases are brought to you, while veggies, tofu, and seafood come on the conveyor belt. Side-dish sauces are buffet style. All-you-can-eat is limited to 90 minutes.
The atmosphere is alright, but the service style can make it feel like a feeding frenzy with little conversation. Big groups may struggle since only those near the conveyor belt serve the rest. Better to split into smaller groups. Freshness is best early, like with an 11 am reservation. Vegan options are possible, as seen by Buddhist monks in line. While some love the food and decor, others find the experience rushed.
