They got my take out order wrong and gave me a tofu not a chicken curry!

Jua & Mao treat us like family. Been going here for way over a decade. The food is outstanding! We love the basil beef, pad thai, tom yum soup, red curry chicken and the mango sticky rice. Can’t beat the great price, too!!

I visited Thai Basil in Sunnyvale recently and had a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially since it was my first time and I needed a bit of guidance on how everything worked. The interior ambiance is cozy (though a bit dim), and there’s decent parking nearby (including a garage across the street). Because many people complain about inconsistent service or flavor, I came in with low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food I tried was solid — flavorful, fairly priced, and customizable. Some menu items (like curries) got mixed feedback in other reviews for being watery or oversalted. If I had to pick one thing to improve, it’s consistency — some dishes were better than others. But overall, it’s a solid Thai option in the area, and I’d go back.

In downtown Sunnyvale , in Murphy avenue, good food, nice laid back interiors, kinda slow service. Lots of vegetarian options too in their menu. Medium spice level seems optimal choice in my opinion.

I'm Thai, and I think this restaurant is underrated. This place has one of the best pad kee mow (drunken noodle) and papaya salad in the south bay area! And they can really make them very spicy per request.

During Covid, i had a team who had to go into the office. We would get the same dish from multiple Thai places to do taste testing. We did Thai Basil and two other local Thai places. We did multiple curries, pad see ew, pad Thai, tom kha and fried rice. Thai basil won every time. Kind people, great food. Decent prices. A gem in Sunnyvale.

We were a group of 10 colleagues, went to this restaurant. We ordered vegetarian fried rice medium spicy, spicy eggplant. They were not that spicy and the rice item didn't have enough salt. We wanted to order dessert but they had only sweet sticky rice with mango option. Overall food was ok.

Nothing bad, but everything good enough... Food is fine and tasty enough, since Thai food is hard to do badly, but it pales in comparison to other thai food I've had. Prices are reasonable, but portion size is on the smaller side. Service was not terrible, but not polite, and quite slow. All in all, not too bad, but not super impressed either...
