We always enjoy getting Mountain Slice whether it's for the pizza, the ice cream, or both! Make sure to call early in the day to place an order for dinner as they get very busy and sell out. Today we ordered the tie dye pizza. I am allergic to tomatoes, so I ordered it without the vodka sauce and extra pesto. Had a little miscommunication on my end about the sauce, so when we picked it up it had a tomato sauce base. We explained what we had thought we ordered and the two guys working quickly made a fresh pie. Very thankful that they were so accommodating. The pizza was delicious with pesto as the base sauce! The dough is the star of the show. We've enjoyed both the regular style and the Detroit style pizzas here. Would love if they started doing some pizzas with other base sauces! Love that they are starting to do late nights with more arcade games, late night pizza, and beer. I think that's super fun and will draw in a cool crowd. Great option since nowhere else is open late. Go get the best pizza on the West Shore!

Good pizza. There's some hype on this place so slightly overrated. 3 stars because if you're bill is over $100, there's an automatic 18% tip added for pickup. Total bananas. Not enough room to sit and eat.

The ordering process is kind of a hassle to be honest but the pizza is good enough that it's worth it. Excellent crust and sauce.

Friendly service. Able to modify toppings on any of the slices. Wide variety. Sauce was extra good! Not too sweet or tangy... Just right. Large slices! Crust also very good.Vegetarian options: Can modify toppings to fit diet needs

My daughter and I love this place! We come over from Incline to have a slice, and some ice cream. And the wings...WOW!! This is our favorite spot in the Reno/Tahoe area for fun atmosphere and a friendly staff. It's small so give them a little Tahoe love if it's a busy weekend and share a table to make new friends!!

Terrible customer service. The owner was grumpy and rude and highly unwelcoming.

Nothing tastes better in 40 degree weather than a hot slice of pizza fresh out of the oven. Especially when the slice is covered in generous blobs of burrata and hot honey or prosciutto. The crust is perfectly thin and crust and just the right amount of sauce to keep it crisp. The burrata is made in house every morning! The pizza is definitely their strong suit, but the ice cream is a nice sweet treat after. It's not the best ice cream I've ever had and not really much to write home about. The strawberry and banana chip were saccharine and artificial tasting. The shop is small with a decent amount of seating room. The slices were served quickly and by two very friendly staff members, who were both very enthusiastic about their craft. Make sure to come by before 5PM to score a slice, otherwise you'll have to take home a full pizza! This was our favorite eats in Tahoe City!

After a tough day skiing at Alpine (which shut down completely for wind) and Palisades (Only KT, Red Dog and Resort open) we needed some dinner. My daughter chose this excellent pizza place, which was right across the street from our hotel, the Pepper Tree. After daring to cross Tahoe Blvd, we entered and were warmly greeted by the one guy running the operation. We ordered a half and half pizza that included the Meat Lover (pepperoni, sausages, etc.( and the Straight Tripping. The ST had cheeses, honey, basil, feta, mushrooms and "stuff". Both were great, but I liked my choice (the ML) hte best. Lots of flavor and a really great thin crispy crust. It was about a 20" pizza or so (big) but we were so hungry and it was so good that we ate 3/4 of it. That is a lot compared to what we would normally do. So, food - great! Service - great! Why not five stars? Well we clearly liked the place a lot. We will return. I mean, four is pretty good rating, right? There are just a couple minor things for me. 'First, not super clean. I mean, it is not life threatening but a bit marginal. No beer. Well, great pizza and no beer? They do have a selection of hard cider and other things, and I got one of those. Clearly not a deal killer, but you need to know, yah? I like the local vibe, but if you are a cloth napkin person, this is not that kinda place. It's really got the local vibe (what is left of it in Tahoe) and I like it. You know you, so think about it. It is pretty tight quarters so if you have like 8 people, you are gonna take up more than half the table space. Now, that is not a negative for all, but you need to know in case you got a crew during winter. Probably best to do take out, which is a thriving thing for them. During good weather, they have outside seating, so no issue. All said, I really like the pizza and will come back again.

Great pizza, amazing crust, nice pizza maker, interesting setting Things to note: Slices are only sold until 5pm, card accepted but cash is preferred As others have said, this is literally a hole in the wall next to the sushi restaurant. Everything is a little haphazard with handwritten instructions and notes. There are menus for the slices and hanging signs regarding pizza made New York style or Detroit style. We came after 5pm and we were offered the last two slices of the day but it wasn't the toppings I was interested in so the only other option was to order a large pizza since the small wasn't available? Something about having a big crowd over the weekend meant small pizzas were all gone? Maybe it was the dough. After ordering our large pizza, wait time was not too bad at around 15 min. Crust was crispy and the thin bottom of the pizza was too. It helped to wait for the pizza to cool a little bit and for the cheese to solidify to eat the pizza without everything collapsing. We were also encouraged to try the tropic thunder hot sauce. It was quite hot so I would only recommend if you like habanero. Not the cleanest place and it gets cramped quickly. But great pizza.

This pizza place is a hole in the wall that only serves slices til 5pm! To get a whole pizza of one of their "specialties" you have to call ahead. It's 2 guys manning the pizza operation & they make great pizza!! The hot honey on top of the Burrata Cheese slice was amazing. The pizza comes out piping hot, delicious, & is a huge slice. The ice cream was so creamy & unique. The strawberry had a unique flavor that really gives that "local farm dairy" taste. The chocolate chips in the banana ice cream were so good, I might have to go back go get a scoop of it again later today. Since it's a small restaurant there is a small patio out front with a few tables & only seats for about 12-15 people to sit comfortably inside.

Like the other reviews state, it is a hole in the wall. It's just 2 guys making pizza all day and they are fantastic at it. We had NY style veggie pizza and a cheese Detroit style. Both amazing. The dough is perfect. I could've eaten a whole pie myself if I didn't have to share. My kiddos loved the cheese Detroit pizza. Read their website because it's very clear on how to order and yes do order early as they do get swamped with to go orders later in the day. Oh and cash is greatly appreciated.

Some of the best pizza we've ever had. We walked in around 4:30p on a Thursday and the owner already had 60 pies in front of him to make but was kind enough to squeeze in our order and gave us great recommendations on veggie friendly pizzas. The burrata was amazing as was the mushroom/feta. Large, thin, NY style slices with a sturdy crust that holds its form. The best part is that the owner has the coolest and sweetest dogs - rescue pups who just came over and cuddled with us while we waited for our pies. You can tell the owner loves what he does and takes a lot of pride in his craft. As he should. Support local. We'll be back for sure.
