Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge

It is a recommended place especially because in location and views of the lake there is nothing better. As a drawback, I would say that there are stairs without an elevator (suitcases!) and that the restaurant menu is quite limited.

I hadn't been to Sunnyside for a long time, and have fond memories of their Father's Day brunch with my husband and in-laws. We went for dinner and I feel like this place has fallen on hard times. The menu is sparse and very fish and "island " heavy. If you're allergic to fish (or just don't like it) your options are basically just chicken salad or a cheese burger. Portions were inconsistent, and our wine pours were definitely light. The wait staff was very friendly and tried their best, but they seemed ill-equipped for the number of guests they had on a Friday night. We ordered a second round of drinks when our food came, and didn't get them until we were almost done. Additionally, two of the same cocktail tasted like completely different drinks.

The location is amazing, and it seems that much of their income comes from tourists wanting to eat with the view. There are much better restaurants that are locally owned so the money stays in Tahoe.

We had the most incredible experience at Sunnyside Restaurant Lodge for our wedding! Our guests who stayed in the rooms couldn’t stop raving about the exceptional quality of service and the delicious breakfast. Allie, our coordinator, was an absolute gem—super personable and fantastic at making game-time decisions, especially during our unforgettable blizzard wedding in May!

Chef Christian truly outdid himself with an entirely gluten-free menu that everyone could enjoy. The food was a hit with all our guests, and we loved that it catered to different dietary needs without compromising on flavor. If you're looking for a beautiful venue with a dedicated team and amazing food, look no further than Sunnyside! Highly recommend!

Longtime west shore hotel and resort. It’s seen some upgrades over the years which has taken it to an elite resort but one thing that I hope never changes are the zucchini sticks out on the deck after boating on the lake on a hot summer day.

We had dinner for my daughter's 30th birthday. I cannot say enough about the service, food and atmosphere. Management and wait staff were superb, lovely ambiance on the deck complete with live music, and delicious meal. We'll be back and highly recommend!

I ordered a naked Burger med/rare. I received a very very well done burger. The server didn't acknowledge my sadness over the dead burger.

Review of restaurant only. We stayed at a nearby inn, but made a reservation for dinner at Sunnyside to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary. Our lakefront table on the deck was perfect. Our waiter Woody was attentive and friendly. The pistachio encrusted halibut (with broccolini and fingerling potatoes) was delicious! And the hula pie dessert was huge and scrumptious. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town.

Very slow service. Food was good, but brought out one persons, then it was over 15min until they started bringing out the other 4 meals. Drinks are not cheap either. Great view of the lake though.

Sunnyside offered us such a lovely introduction to Tahoe. Great rooms, great view, great bear! The bears just wanted to come have dinner at the dock!

Beware! Our server tipped themselves extra. My credit card charge was more than my receipt for final bill and tip. I called the restaurant and they said it must've been a mistake and they'll fix it. That was 10 days ago.

It's really sad because this is a very nice restaurant with good food, but is not a trustworthy establishment. I recommend to steer clear!
