My husband and I had such a great time here after our wine tasting tour. We actually ended up meeting another couple there while touring and decided to dine together. The service was awesome, the ambience was beautiful and relaxing as well. It's almost a 2 hour drive for us but 100% worth it. We did the wine flight tasting while dining which was fun!

This would be a great place if my objective was to come and get drunk and be loud. It's more like a bar atmosphere and the food was not good. I specifically told the people on my reservation that I needed someplace quieter to dine with my family in celebration of my 83 year old father. We were seated in the cave with pop music echoing and a bridal shower full of woo girls behind us. This would be a place for young party people who are there to get their drink on, not family or older people. Think Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland except noisier.Kid-friendliness: No. Not for kids.

We went here last night for our anniversary. The Cave is really cool and feels very private. However, the food is a major let down. We ordered the chimchurri fries for an app, and it was nothing like the pictures. There was hardly a hint of chimchurri on the fries. I also ordered the apple pomegranate salad. There were no apples or pomegranates. None. The soup is also a soup of the day. I asked the server what the soup was and she stuttered and said, "uhhh it tomatoey." She said she'd find out what it's called and when she came back, she said, "it's like a meatball soup." I was thinking albondigas, but she said it was Italian. She didn't know the name of it, so she brought out a sample. How does the server NOT know the menu!?!? The service was decent until our food arrived, then it took a server awhile to come around. We had a baby sitter for the night and so we didn't even mention the mistakes in the food. The longer we were there, the more we'd be paying our babysitter. Overall, I'm really disappointed. I don't think we will be back because the menu is not reliable. It's beyond frustrating to pay these prices for in accurate food and mediocre service.

James. James, is like Pinotage, rare and remarkable. We were lucky enough to take our Cave tour with him, amazing experience. Spring for the extra tasting with the tour, at least eight wines with multiple top offs!

This is the second time dining at the Cave with a party of eight and the second time we had mediocre service. While it appears there was enough wait staff and we were not in a major hurry, lunch should not have taken 2 and a half hours - both times! Each visit, we had to find our waiter and ask to order, get our check, get our credit cards back, etc. The staff was friendly enough, but I couldn't understand why it takes so long to eat there. In today's world of tipping for everything - it's difficult to tip on a large bill for this type of service. Even though I am a member of Oak Mountain and I enjoy the menu at the Cave, I'm not so certain I'll be eating there again.

Visited Cave Cafe last week before my husband and I went on a paid tasting at Oak Winery. When we asked the hostess for a seat, she asked if we'd like indoor or outdoor. I said "indoor because it's too cold outside." She told us nevermind because they didn't have any indoor seats available and that it was colder inside anyway. Please, if you're going to have outside dining in January, turn your outdoor heaters on! We were seated in the shade and the umbrellas were up blocking the sun from reaching out table anyway. I was shivering so badly that my husband got my coat from the car for me. I heard another table ask for the only heater I saw to be brought to them and for their umbrella to be lowered. As a Celiac, I wasn't confident that I'd be able to eat here as they don't have a marked menu. They have a shared fryer so anything fried was off limits. I ended up with the $23 mahi-mahi tacos which were very generously filled although a bit bland. My husband had the $19 Cubano panini. Overall, it took about an hour from start to finish for our meal, so don't think you're going to come here for a quick bite before your tour. Give yourself ample time and maybe make reservations if you're going to eat here. I cannot stress enough - bring a coat if you're going to eat here in winter. You will freeze without it. Beautiful place, great atmosphere. I love the privacy you get from the rows of barrels separating the tables inside the cave (as another reviewer mentioned, make sure your reservation is in there), and they nail the lighting. Food was good, wine was better. My kids wanted steak fries which I initially said "c'mon" to, but they were perfectly seasoned with tender beef on top. Flatbread was pillowy with creamy goat cheese and crispy pepitas. Server was attentive and friendly and personable, she was busy but took time to explain wines clearly and make sure we were taken care of. Charcuterie board was very good, especially liked the sage and port cheeses. With the wines, the Caveman, Merlot, and Sueno were our table favorites but I liked everything except the Cabernet Sauvignon, normally a favorite of mine, which in this case was excessively sour and oddly almost briny. Nothing worth docking a point over. Walking about the property afterwards was really nice, it's in a gorgeous spot surrounded by vines.

Great short ribs, and good service. The ambience is pleasant, and the waiters are friendly.

Loved it from start to finish. The ribeye steak plate was delicious! Excellent customer service from all employees, especially our waiter. Fun experience being in the cave too. Some times they have it lit up in colored lighting (they should ALWAYS do that) it really adds to the ambience. The only thing they're missing is some good background music.

We got to experience the cave tour. Our guide was James and he was great! Tasty wines and charcuterie. Lunch was delightful with the beautiful scenery and fresh food. Service was wonderful.
