Great wines friendly owners
Sitting quietly on a cliff in Cayucos, gazing out over the vast Pacific Ocean, I sip a magnificent 2022 CLESI Sagrantino. Reflecting on the world, its rhythms, and entanglements—much of which remains enigmatically complex. Yet one thing is clear: Chris Ferrara is the finest winemaker, for he is, above all, a farmer. As the Italians say, “Chi semina raccoglie"—those who sow, reap.
My wife and I stopped in unannounced this past Sunday morning. Adrienne was out front doing some work with their son (?Gio) and their australian sheep dog McCoy. Adrienne was kind enough to stop what she was doing, greet us warmly, and guide is through a delightful wine tasting over the course of an hour. We learned a great deal about a family operated vinyard, having fun playing fetch wtih McCoy a good bit of the time. Adrienne was genuinely engaged and lovely to chat with. We walked away with some bottles of tasty sagrantino and felt like it was a 100% worthwhile, enriching experience. We hope to return if we pass through Paso Robles again :-)
I have purchased Clesi wines for nearly 8 years yet live in San Diego. So Today was a rare day of tasting for me and our group of three with hostess Adrienne Ferrara. She offered us the latest Clesi vintages which tasted heavenly. Now that they offer their black-label estate wines, it’s even more special.
I loved visiting this winery! We stopped in during spring 2022, and were able to make a tasting appointment for the same day. It was a drizzly day but it made the surrounding land even more picturesque. The tasting room was open and plenty dry! There is also a very enthusiastic winery dog that will play fetch with you forever! He was great and I had so much fun sipping wines and tossing the ball for him. The owner was also wonderful to chat with, very relaxed and friendly. The wine itself is tasty and we went home with a few bottles. Definitely plan to visit again the next time we are in town!
Nice boutique winery with very well made Italian style wines.
Went on last Thursday afternoon without a reservation. As soon as we arrived, a group of 6, the hostess started pouring wine which we thought was great. Absolute great wines, we enjoyed every single one of them. Our experience wasn’t the best though, everyone in the group felt we were rushed. There was no one else tasting other then our group but the hostess didn’t really interact with us. Poured us wine and left. Not much about the making of these great wines. Would love to go back and give them another shot. Chris, the winemaker, was great when we spoke to him over the phone.
Beautiful scenery, amazing tastings, and absolutely superb folks!!
Wonderful experience, beautifully crafted wines! Love the Italian wines, especially in this area!
Gorgeous spot, delicious wine, service was fantastic (thank you Shelby!). Very excited to go back!

Great outdoor seating. The sheep were right by us and so cute. The wines were excellent and decently priced.
Great atmosphere and awesome wines.
Great tasting wines
Don't get me wrong. I don't mind that the central coast has so many good French varietals. But I love Italian wines, and Clesi does Italian wines really well. The tasting room is in a beautiful setting, low key, and tended by people who really know and love the wines. The wines are priced better than many in the area, which made the wine club a no-brainer. Highly recommended.
Outstanding Italian varietals! Great service. Becky is very knowledgeable about the wines. We are members and always enjoy doing a tasting when picking up our wine club shipment. Their Sangiovese is to die for.
