I’ve been coming to this place for many years. I think they did change ownership at some point but the food is still very good. Pictured is the house chicken, dumpling soup and sweet and sour shrimp. The orange chicken and Mongolian beef is also one of our favorites! They are a little pricey compared to other places but we always have leftovers and the portions are good sizes. We will be back for takeout soon!

We've lived in the Suntree neighborhood in Newbury Park for 23 years, and have really enjoyed food from Sesame Inn (3327 Kimber) recently. Sesame Inn was owned for a long time by Jennifer and Paul, but went through two changes of ownership once they retired. A new couple, Ling and Shao Yung, now own Sesame Inn, and have kept the original recipes. The restaurant is currently carry-out only. Ling handles the phone and Shao Yung runs the kitchen. They're delightful! We've ordered most things on the menu (including the "secret" menu), but keep gravitating towards our favorites. We did so again this evening. Whenever we have out-of-town guests that have been here before, they always ask for carry-out from Sesame Inn. ★★★★★ - 5 stars!
Was not aware they didn't do dine in till I got there.but alas food was good.lady at counter very nice.little out of the way but worth it. Prices fair.large portions.just remember if u don't like peppers and onions all over everything. Ask.

Used to be excellent and we were regulars eating there at least once a month if not 2 or 3 times a month. Ever since the new owners bought it quality went down and after a few tries we no longer go. Golden dragon on TO Blvd is now our go to.
I feel like this place had so much potential prior to the pandemic but it definitely lost its quality. The ordering process is tedious, I ordered via the. Phone, waited and no one responded or acknowledge my presence when I went to pick up. They have a lot to work on and maybe it's the language barrier but the food is definitely good.

I have always enjoyed the food at your establishment, and it often serves as our comfort food. However, I had a disappointing experience with your customer service today. When I called to place an order, I needed assistance with ordering a specific dish, the name of which I couldn't remember. Unfortunately, the lady who answered the phone was not only unhelpful but also quite rude, telling me to call back because she was busy and when I remember the name of the dish.
It is disheartening to encounter such behavior, especially from a place we have consistently supported and enjoyed. I hope that, despite the high demand, customer service remains a priority, ensuring that all customers feel valued and respected.

Stopped here because it was on my way home. Now it’s going to be my go to for Chinese. Very delicious and not smothered in sauce.

Disappointing food, but at least the portions are small.Potstickers appear to be commercial frozen premades, cooked to a dried-out and hard skin. Cashew chicken is mostly vegetables, almost no cashews or chicken. Cream cheese wontons have almost no filling, and are stale instead of crispy.Staff was prompt and only had to wait about 5 minutes for an online order.Do not plan to return. Low quality food for moderate-high prices.

After tasting the best beef noodle soup in Shanghai, I was on a mission to find a local Chinese restaurant that made authentic beef noodle soup.I ordered this dish from several restaurants in Thousand Oaks and Westlake, and was disappointed. Until I tried Sesame Inn.Not only did they provide very generous portions, but their beef noodle soup was the best in the Conejo Valley! What would make it better is if they added some sliced carrots.Ever since COVID, Sesame Inn became a strictly take out establishment - no dining in. This is a better model for them, since the restaurant is small and they've always had a strong take out business.

Food is delicious. This is our favorite Chinese food in Newbury Park. Food is good and it’s mostly consistent. Big portions, great for feeding family or large groups.
