It would be nice if they had a separate wait-list for the counter seating.

1st time 12/09, location can be seen right off the Blvd. Plenty of parking when we arrived. Greeted upon entry and seated no wait. Menu is large and labeled and provides details to ordering your plate. Ordered Chicken cutlet with veggies and rice spice level 2...for a spicy eater it was like less spicy than Tapatio and ordered Garlic Naan, Side Salad and Omelet with Chicken Cutlet with veggies, also a Kids C plate 2 nuggets 2 corn doggies, corn, fries and a small cup of curry and came with a small squishy toy. Food was really good. We will be returning.

A Japanese restaurant serves delicious food.
Curry reminds me my Indian curry.
Rice, curry and vegetable croquette is a great dish for vegetarian. Croquette and curry are delicious.
Just pick the curry , add rice and topping, it’s done.
We always preorder the meal on mobile to avoid waiting time their .

2025 update: curry is not as aromatic as before and prices have gone up but food is still very good. Remains one of our favourites after a decade.
I'm hooked. Very satisfying and aromatic Japanese curry with plenty of vegetarian options. Better than other curry houses in the area.
I’m really sorry to put a one star but the waitress lady was so rude to me and my mom just now. We were waiting for my online order and nobody told us it was ready. My mom had to ask the lady and she was like “ sorry” and her facial expression looked super different from a sorry. Like she was just saying it because she had to and clearly didn’t mean it. Like she looked irritated having to push out a simple “sorry” for us waiting 30 minutes not being called for our order. I’m not sure what her name was but she was black and I’ve never seen her before at this restaurant. Then again I only go rarely, but I really like this place for the vegetable curry so it made me so sad :(. Also the bag didn’t come with a spoon and I was starving so I lowkey ate with my hands…yeah gross….but I was hungry. My cheese curry was about $13 which is pretty normal for food but yeah the customer service(at least her) was awful. I’ve never met someone so rude and I rarely do these Google ratings so yeah I’m sorry to my favorite curry restaurant but dang you need to fire her for me 😭.

The food was great and the service is kind. My first time ordering here and it was an easy experience for take out, though something out of service in the kitchen which made me have to change something about my order. My server Sarina was kind with informing me about it and giving me options to switch for. As well as offering me a beverage for the inconvenience.

The food and service at the Coco Ichibanya Torrance location were perfect, as always. The staff was attentive, and my curry was absolutely delicious. I consistently have a great experience here.
My only frustration is that this is the second time I’ve been to a Coco Ichibanya (this one and a different location, at two different times of day/night) and they didn’t have iced coffee available, even though it's still listed on the menu. If it’s not something they sell anymore, it would be helpful if they could take it off the menu to avoid confusion.
Despite that small issue, I love this place and will definitely be back for the amazing food!

No words can say how much I love Coco but I do love the variety of options to pair my curry with. My go to is the Chicken Omelette Curry with a side of garlic naan. The cheese keema fries are delicious and good alternative for chili cheese fries.

Restaurantji Recommends
CoCo Ichibanya is an excellent spot to get Japanese curry! Our family has enjoyed this restaurant for years. Their chicken katsu curry is delicious & one of their most popular dishes. The curry has several degrees of spice to choose from. Also, I suggest trying their cheese naan bread. Service is friendly and fast. I would also recommend reserving a table online. That way you will either have no wait or a minimal wait when you arrive. Enjoy!

Great curry! The naan was unavailable due to the the oven or else it would have been 5 stars.

The service was very slow. Everything took 30 to 40 minutes. Everything from waiting for food, waiting for a refill of water, to even waiting for a check. Next time I'll just order to go because the food was really good. The service just needs a lot of improvement. There was also oil on the floor of the restaurant and none of the workers took a moment to clean it. They all just visibly changed how they walked so they wouldn't slip. Even though one did. Huge safety hazard
