Great spot to meet friends or casual business meal as they have tables with partitions that make it a room. as those are built as a room, it may take some time to have someone to take orders. Their katsu is good, noodles are ok.. not many parking spot, but I always was able to find one on the street with walking distance.

A long term standing Japanese tonkatsu place in old town Torrance.
Their katsu is always crispy outside and tender inside.
I love their private booth so you can have a little meeting if you like.

Absolutely delicious katsu! I was so hungry I completely forgot to take any photos of the food, but everything we got was amaizng. We got some fried squid for appetizer, I got a natto bomber (which was awesome if you like natto like I do), the shishito was delicious, and we also got fried edamame which was pretty good as well.
Dinner I got the katsu curry and I'm absolutely blow away by how easily I was able to cut the tonkatsu with a spoon!!
I definitely want to come back here next time I'm visiting the area!

Food is good. Decor is nice. Service is atrocious. Expected more from Japanese servers. Their service is extremely subpar. Have visited 2x. There will not be a 3rd visit.

If you like tonkatsu, try this place! Their food portions and huge with generous side dishes, and the ambience is super cool. Very good choice for a date if you ask me.

Great food, service, and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend if you are looking for some Japanese cuisine in downtown Torrance.

Separated box seats are very nice and comfortable, but the server took forever to just bring water

The food was not bad, but the service felt quite rushed. While I was still eating and had about half of my tonkatsu left, the server already brought over the dessert menu. When I declined because I was too full, they immediately handed me the check — even though I was still finishing the last few bites of my meal. The server’s attitude also felt a bit cold, which made the experience somewhat uncomfortable. What made it more surprising was that it wasn’t even busy — it was a weekday, and the restaurant was quite empty with only a few other customers around.

Great lunch sets and the portions are... optimistic that I can eat that much katsu. Get the navy mix rice.

Great thick cut pork tonkatsu, very tender. Thin ones are also available. My first visit and was very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. We were seated in a booth with very traditional Japanese layout (see photo). It really adds to the experience.

This place serves truly authentic Japanese tonkatsu. The breading is exactly like in Japan. The mille-feuille tonkatsu and the tenderloin taste just like eating in Japan. The mazemen noodles are spot-on, almost identical to what you’d get in Nagasaki. Mixing the leftover sauce with white rice is perfect. Corkage is $18. This is definitely a must-visit. Even the miso soup is full of care

Wow! Would absolutely come here again.
They have very good quality wasabi and side dishes. The katsu is delicious and we also got their special sashimi bowl and unagi bowl. Top notch

Mixed bag. I ordered the Premium Fillet Katsu Gozen with curry, the Millefeuille Cheese Katsu Gozen, and uni pasta. The katsu itself looked great and tasted decent—definitely better than their downtown LA location (I later realized it’s the same chain under a different name). But the sides dragged the meal down: the rice was dry, the soup tasted like last night’s leftovers, and the curry came off like instant mix. The uni pasta was okay, though the sauce was too thick. Overall, the presentation impressed, but the balance wasn’t there—made me wonder if the main cook was out that day.
For context: since Curry House (DTLA) closed, I’ve been hunting for a good katsu-and-curry spot. Curry House was never the absolute best, but for the price it was unbeatable—high turnover kept the food consistent and fresh. This place doesn’t quite hit that mark.

Took 10 mins to have our order taken and it took 30 minutes for our sushi appetizer to come out. It’s sushi, you don’t even have to cook it. The food is decent but there’s much better in the area for much cheaper. No reason to go to this restaurant except for their bar.

Messed up the first order, did make it right on second. Katsu was delicious, and I will come back again to try new stuff.
