Madre has one of the best selections of Mezcal in Southern California, and the bartender Sam offers great expertise of the product. Sam helped with personal suggestions of his favorites, and gave suggestions of what we should like based on specific flavor profile preferences. We will definitely come back to sit at the bar and order Mezcal from Sam.

Food was VERY flavorful. The waitress warned me that the pork chicharron taco was spicy and it definitely was 🥵. Be prepared for a noisy environment. Lots of music and chatter. Definitely a great vibe as long as you're ready for it.

Excellent all around. I came to try mole and left satisfied! If you’re looking to try it, too, get the Madre Enchiladas.

The drinks were super amazing! I love mezcal and the margarita will not disappoint! Great summer drink with a recipe that will blow your pants off! Please order this drink first.
We order chips and guacamole so the secret sauce here is the smoky dark salsa! Pang! The smoky sweet plum oil chile will send you around the latin world in one taste! Please try that!
Finally the dark mole was just the cherry on top! Smoky with a slight spice and had me licking my fingers for more! Amazing!
A definite must go and secret spot nestled in the middle of old torrance.

I have to update my review bc this experience at Madre last night was amazing! Our food, the service, drinks and omg the chile de aceite was the best! Madre might now be my go to spot!

The food is disgusting!
Our server (Lesso) was rude and unprofessional. He was chewing gum with his mouth wide open while taking our order, and seemed bothered by the few questions we had regarding the menu.
I had the cochinita pibil, the texture was rubbery and extremely salty. The tortillas were cold and stale. The black bean dip which was included with my dish tasted so bad that I had to spit it out.
We were a party of 7 friends & family. We all looked at each other and said the same thing - WE WOULD NOT COME BACK.
Others in the group ordered the barbacoa res, enchiladas and chicken with veggies. We all agreed that the food was NOT GOOD!

This was my inaugural visit, and the establishment exceeded expectations. The cuisine was exceptional, and the handcrafted beverages were superb. Jose, our server, provided outstanding and courteous service, reflecting the overall professionalism and politeness of the entire staff.
