Decided to try out this local spot on a whim and i'm really glad I did. I pulled up 15 minutes until closing and the waitress still took my order to go. Dine in was no longer available which was understandable. She was very witty and funny, excellent service and I enjoyed the unexpected laughter. Food was ready super quick and she even met me at the door to pick it up. The food was incredible, very rich flavor and made with love. I ordered the #4 which was recommended by her. I am looking forward to dining in next time, really nice spot. Go check it out.

I just went there to the location that used to be Zabon and I got to say , not too bad ! The workers are inviting , food was good except the noodles are thinner than the thicker quality ones that I’m usually used to , prices are great , no gyoza package deal but they have this pork belly rice bowl package deal that’s AMAZING ! I asked if they serve it separately and they said no several times , very disappointing :(. Other than that it’s a decent spot to park take in . Could be levels higher with a thicker noodle choice and a Pork belly rice bowl being abled to be sold separately ! I’d be there every week 😭 !

I’m Hispanic, and when I walked in they immediately asked if my order was to-go. After I said I was dining in, I noticed they didn’t ask the same thing to the Asian customers. It made me feel singled out and uncomfortable. The ramen honestly wasn’t even that great, so I won’t be coming back.

What a great surprise!!! From top to bottom! Ramen, fried rice, side of pork, gyoza. When all the basics are hitting a full cylinders it’s top notch! Must try!

High quality and very affordable ramen.
They recently rebranded the shop and of course old customers may not used to the new menu. I have been in the previous shop, totally different menu.

The only complaint I have is about happy hour. Used to have a great HH menu for drinks, but not anymore. Hope they bring back the HH deals.

The space is cold and unremarkable. The worst part is they eliminated the charcoal chicken which was the best part; now there’s nothing really to differentiate this from any other Ramen place in the South Bay aside from the fact that they only have chicken broth.

Food, service and atmosphere is good (I never give 5 stars). Their $8.99 ramen is a deal! And it was very good. I eat at ramen houses often and Sumiya is a go to.

Use to be amazing until they changed everything from ingredients to addons. I would've much preferred to pay $2 or $3 more and keep it all the same. Sooo subpar now on top of stomach pain ithe chili paste alternative (habanero) now in the ramen broth now that doesn't fit/balance well with the broth's taste profile. I'm thankful the service is still amazing and the takoyaki is still the best (although I wouldn't go just for that.) There's so many better ways to balance a restaurant budget or any budget other then destroying everything that makes it great. Just raise the prices on everything... I hope they change it back so I can start going again.

Ok so we’ve been here a few times and have always ordered the Japanese BBQ chicken ramen. It is so delicious and unique and the chicken chowder broth is fantastic. Our kids slurp it up. My husband and I love it. We eat a lot of ramen places and this place is one of the best in the South Bay.

We came here today and to our surprise, there’s no more blackened chicken ramen! We still got the chowder (rich) chicken ramen but we miss our favorite ramen dish. We hope you bring it back!

I also want to shout out to the staff. We come here with our twin 2 year old toddlers and sometimes call in to get an order of the karaage started so that it’s ready by the time we’re seated and they always accommodate us. The staff is so nice here it makes it that much of a wonderful experience.

It use to be 5 stars when they had the bbq chicken the sumi chicken. They changed the menu drastically. I get it, you have to change menu sometimes but why remove the famous dish Sumiya is known for. There is no more Sumi (bbq binchoutan charcoal) anymore. Staff and service is great love them. Ramen is still delicious and now cheaper but super duper disappointing that they removed the bbq chicken. I always went there to get beer and bbq chicken, even get it To go. Please bring back the bbq chicken.

This place is one of my favorite ramen spots on earth. And not pricey for American USD, worth every penny.

I recommend the #2 Rich Chicken Ramen and the Japanese BBQ chicken bowl. Both were delicious! Good service and good amount of parkimg available.
