Japanese food is one of my favorite cuisines so I always up to try one when I can. Looking for a good one when I was in this area and saw this one with good review. We were not hungry so thought that light items like tempura and sashimi sounds like a good idea. However, consider that tempura is their main item, it's just OK. Not memorable. The batter is not crisp & light with flakes like how tempura batter should be. We also order a bowl of sake-don (salmon over rice) and the rice did not seem to be a flavored sushi rice, just plain white rice. The service was not great. There were only two tables at that time as it was early before lunch crowd. However, the three servers at the time seemed to be in a bad mood and annoyed.

I came here to order takeout. Miku greeted me and took my order promptly. She was friendly and personable. My food was packed well for travel. This was the first time I ordered takeout. Food was delicious as expected and a nice variety of tempura.

Some of the best tempura in LA. I really like their tempura bowl, especially the tempura egg that you break apart and the yolk spreads over the rice. I typically pair it with the soba noodles. I love this small business started by a Peruvian man Carlos who had a passion for tempura. Highly recommend.

Best authentic shrimp tempura bowl this side of Mississippi, hands down. Why not 5 stars? It's only because I feel there's room for improvement. While selection in their menu is great, I feel they can benefit by adding a "build your own" tempura bowl in their menu. Other than that, food is great!

There's not a lot of tempura places and I've been eyeing this place for some time! I finally got the chance and made my way here. I came for dinner and luckily had no wait and was seated right away.I got the premium tempura bowl that came with a variety of seafood and veggies. I was tempted to add in ikura but wasn't that hungry to add it in. I'll have to try it next time. This was a good size and loved it all. Seafood wasnt fishy, which was great. Only downfall is that since they put the sauce over it, the tempura isn't crispy anymore. Next time I might ask for the sauce on the side (if they'll allow it). The only that was crispy was the seaweed but thats cause I ate the first. The sauce that goes with it, balances really well. not too sweet and not too salty. I like my food saucy but I think there's a bit too much sauce. The rice was drenched in it. I liked every piece that came with the bowl. Wouldn't change that part. My boyfriend got the small tempura with hot udon and he liked the combo. Though he said in the small tempura bowl, the ratio of rice to tempura was off. More rice than tempura and so he was left with more rice after. Udon broth was clean and flavorful. Nothing too special about the udon noodles but seemed average. Overall, would definitely come back. If you like tempura, I recommend coming! It's also not greasy at all! Which was a major bonus. Some places overfry their tempura or it gets greasy where we feel bloated and gross after. Not here! Clean batter and fry! So good!

I was waiting for my car to get serviced in South Bay and remembered my family talking about this delicious tempura restaurant in Torrance. I yelped "tempura" and immediately found the place. They have a lot of combinations on the menu but I decided to keep it simple with the tempura + cold soba plate. We also tried the shrimp tendon with cold soba. The hot soba also looked good. The tempura was fried perfectly and not overly battered. The soba noodles were cold and had the perfect texture + thickness. I loved the presentation of the food and liked that they give you a big portion of grated daikon for the tempura sauce. I'm definitely coming back the next time I'm in the area!

5/5 | Small Tendon Bowl and Hot Soba Combo | $18.99Food: Loved my visit once again. At first taste, the Tendon Bowl's shrimp tempura was fantastic. Each bite was crispy and packed with flavor. They seem to use a special type of soy sauce that is salty, savory, but also sweet. The sauce is also available on the table to use at anytime, so I poured some on the rice as well. Last time I tried the cold soba, but I now know that the hot soba is the way to go. On this cold day, it was wonderful to have a warm bowl of soup and noodles. Service: Quick and easy, nothing crazy.Ambiance: This was a Monday lunch, and there were still so many people! Shortly after we sat down, all of the seats were filled and some were waiting outside as well.

Not a big place so there was a bit of a wait. The tempura was crispy and good sized. Surprised by the fried egg and the fried seaweed as that's not as common but very delicious nonetheless.

The food was just not as tasty as I would have hoped and the service was very lacking. Not too welcoming.

Pros:- Food is freshly made, tasty, and feels very homemade.Cons:- I came right after opening, so the smell of cleaning products was a bit strong.- Tempura batter seems different than what I've had at other places and not as light and crispy.
