Memorable hidden gem which gives a hip, hole-in-the-wall vibe but serves the freshest sushi, sashimi and rolls on par with the finest sushi spots in LA. Friendly service and fun atmosphere. Don’t miss the creative rolls and specials!!!

It’s exceptionally good quality but also expensive, so fair warning. They do not have a simple tuna roll.

Great place to have food, especially sushi rolls. Please be mindful of the rolls are 10 pieces (other places are 8).

I came here with a friend expecting to eat salmon belly sashimi as it one of the only few places in the area that has it. And wow, it didn't disappoint. We were planning to have a plate of salmon belly each, but unfortunately they ran out. Makes sense as it's hard to get. The other dishes we ordered were good as well. The server was nice and the atmosphere was welcoming. If you didn't pay attention to the sign, you would miss this place driving by. I would recommend this place.

The sashimi was fresh, and the fish slices were large and thick for the price. They had a great variety of rolls, and the Sunset Roll I had was delicious. Restroom was clean.

Can't believe i've driven past this gem so many times and never knew about it. Food and service were spot on. Excellent. The place inside is very tranquil and nice. Highly recommend checking it out.
Dinner for 2 persons, shared appetizer and 2 combo plates, green tea, 100$.
Ueno could be a great restaurant because the food is of quality. The combo dinner plates were copious. Unfortunately, they were served with large portions of jasmine rice instead of quality Japanese rice like Koishikari.
But the worse part is the place itself. Country music? Puking. Kindergarten decor? Horrible. Lighting: bad. TV with sports? Why?
Greeting was non existant. One chef looked at us from the kitchen but simply ignored us after just a glimpse. Is this a private club? A waiter entered the dining area but did not notice us, we had to make some sound and gesture.
The place was around 30% occupied, quite underwhelming
This place has all the potential of attracting a nice clientele because the food quality is there. Make it seriously Japanese !
Cover the windows (who wants to see traffic?), remove the preschool decor, dim the lights, remove the TV, add a sushi counter, and mainly, train the personnel. Being ignored at the door when only 4 tables are occupied is strange.
No reservation needed, place is empty! By 20:00 parking was full, with quite non existing street parking. Not good.
I recommend to avoid this place if you want good Japanese food. Sapporo draft beer my friend ordered was stale. I ordered Sashimi Combo with another Japanese friend. We both expected to have warm rice. Instead we were served a cup of cold sushi rice. We asked for a cup of warm rice. And server brought to us. From this we realized that this restaurant is not authentic. Their sashimi was good. But not great. One of us ordered Teriyaki Chicken. She found out the chicken was not cooked thoroughly. Red in the middle. We complained . They didn't Charge her.
Excellent sushi and amazing service!

First time here. Prices are reasonable. Just drove by and decided to try it out. Honestly it did not disappoint. Definitely a hidden gem. Everything was good. Very fresh. The service was amazing. 1 guy was waiting on everyone and he was on top of it. Great service great food and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
It was great quality fish. Everything tasted fairly fresh! 🫶
The worst JP food with expensive prices. Feel very disappointed and upset. Will definitely not come again!

I took a friend to eat sushi for the first time that did 35 years in prison. The shishito peppers are addicting and to die for. We ordered 3 different rolls and everything was amazing. The sake was hot and delicious...service was great and attentive. I love this place! I've been like 5 times before and would say it's one of my favorite sushi spots in LA with great prices! JUST GO HERE! you won't be disappointed.
Kid-friendliness: There was a child in there and she had toys and was not disturbing at all....gave it a great family friendly vibe.
Wheelchair accessibility: You can ROLL up on in their as easy as they ROLL the sushi lol
