We had a party of 17. Our server was outstanding! All the meals came out at the same time, hot, and plentiful. He was attentive to all parties at the table. I did not hear any unsatisfied guest in our party. Thank you to the entire team from booking the large party, to the chef/s in preparing all meals to perfection, and to all the servers who supported our waiter in delivering the meals at one time. The view is great in the summer, but not in winter, when sunset is 5 pm. It was chilly inside (not unusual for Humboldt County restaurants). The food quality was good, the portions were HUGE. The wait staff seemed stretched thin, but overall they worked hard to get everyone taken care of. The wine selection is surprisingly limited, only one or 2 options for any given wine type. The night we were there, they were totally out of chardonnay. Overall, we had a nice meal there.

Celebrated our 6month anniversary with hubby here. The most beautiful place, with the best view and best costumer service, Sharley was super attentive and provided beautiful service, restaurant was pretty busy all tables were occupied and we got the best tasting food, hot and tasty. Portions are huge as well, totally needed to take to go.

This is a true gem of a restaurant that should be rated higher. Beautiful views and the crab cakes were so good! I got the seafood pasta as well with leftovers for tomorrow. So glad someone recommended this place and a nice way to end the day after a hike. Excellent service as well by staff. This is a place I'll be visiting again.

My Easter dinner experience in the Sunset restaurant was truly delightful. The quiet ambiance was wonderfully enhanced by the fact that the restaurant overlooks the ocean in Trinidad, California, creating a truly relaxing and picturesque setting. The service throughout the meal struck the perfect balance – attentive and responsive without ever feeling intrusive. The meal began with a comforting and flavorful appetizer of tender beef cuts and savory mushrooms served over mashed potatoes that had a noticeable texture to the blend, all enhanced by a rich beef gravy. I found the 'Shark Bite' Wheat IPA to be a satisfying accompaniment to this course. Following the appetizer, my vibrant shrimp pasta arrived, featuring generous portions of shrimp and a bright white wine and citrus sauce that beautifully evoked the flavors of Spring and the coast. This delicious course was accompanied by a refreshing guava mule mocktail from the menu, which my attentive server kindly 'tainted' with a shot of vodka, adding a little extra kick to the enjoyable drink. While the pasta shape required a bit of care to eat neatly, it encouraged a slower pace, allowing me to fully savor the dish and my cocktail. For dessert, instead of a classic trifle, I enjoyed a delightful chocolate variation. As I finished my dining experience with a chocolate mousse with brownies truffle, I found it to be good, though the brownies were a tad tough. For future enjoyment of such a dessert, I would highly recommend serving the brownies warm to enhance their texture and create a lovely contrast with the cool mousse. Overall, the combination of enjoyable courses, excellent and accommodating service, the perfectly timed and personalized beverage, and the beautiful ocean view made for a wonderful Easter dinner. This restaurant offers a truly pleasant and well-rounded dining experience in a stunning location.

An excellent place for dinner during gambling! The food at the Sunset Restaurant was so savory. The Glazed Pork Loin melted in your mouth and the asparagus was fresh as can be. The Sunset Cioppino was a perfect blend of prawns, scallops, hard shell clams, and snapper in a delicious lemony white wine garlic butter sauce with crunch sourdough bread slices. All the portions are HUGE and you will be super full or have leftovers for the next day. The staff is amazing and attentive. Can't go wrong with any meal they offer here.

Wow! Food was fantastic and what a sunset we had last night. But the real winner was the exceptional service we had. The entire staff was awesome. Charliegh was our main server who was just phenomenal! Our large party of 19 was treated fabulous and we couldn’t have asked for for a better night out. Thanks to Charliegh and the rest of the staff for giving us a top experience.
