I’m local and work in Truckee so I ordered a salad to go and opted to add steak. I went to pick it up, and it was $50. “That’s a bit pricey for a steak salad” I think to myself but fair enough. I opened the container and really could not believe it. Tiny salad with a small slice of meat accompanying it? Paying $50 (not including tip) and not even getting an ordinary amount salad was disappointing.

Very fun dinner spot. Live music, solid cocktails, nice back patio. Definitely need a reservation on the weekend.

Enjoyed our meals, the service and drinks were great! A nice atmosphere to meet friends, family, or date night. My beef stew in a bread bowl was absolutely delicious. My husband had a huge burger and one of his favorite beers. Great food!

Top notch food and service. A little loud, but not terribly so. Our server was one of the best we have experienced anywhere. The food was very good.

Moody’s has always been one of our favorite local bar/restaurants, which is why this visit was such a disappointment. The food was, as always, really good. But the service this time was just bad.
We were a group of 3 and had reservations. Our waitress started off nice, but once she realized we were each only ordering the hamburger ($28) and splitting a salad, instead of the more expensive items, her attitude totally changed. After that, we barely saw her. No check-ins, no drinks, nothing. Our food was delivered by a friendlier waiter. Our drinks never showed up and when we notified her, she said “ok, I’ll check” (instead of apologizing). It felt like we weren’t worth her time just because we didn’t splurge. We could see her being attentive and friendly to other tables.
It’s frustrating because we usually love coming here, and the kitchen never misses. I’m hoping this was just a one-off experience, but it definitely took away from what’s normally a great spot.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch today! Moody’s has been on my list for a while. To start, I Enjoyed my new favorite martini/drink— the Ultimate Traveler, a perfect combination of Serrano infused vodka, lemongrass, coconut and lime. Truly, a perfect taste sensation. The salad was beautiful and the steak cooked perfectly. Our waiter was prompt and kind and checked on us regularly. Looking forward to returning!

Great vibe with the choice of sitting in the live music section or quieter dining room. Food was not amazing but still worth going for the fun atmosphere.

This is one of my wife's and my go-to spots for a date night. The drinks are great and the entrees are creative and delicious.

Moody’s is always very good and I would give it 4.5 stars across the board. The better dishes tonight included the hangar steak, deviled eggs, Hamachi crisp, and the Campanelle. Love the space and the live music. Have recommended to others often.

Had dinner with another couple. Restaurant was very nice and service was great. I had the scallops, my husband had halibut. The other couple had lamb pasta and scallops.

All was great till 3am, when food poisoning hit me. Diarrhea and vomiting. Lasted all night and the next day. Discovered later the other person who had scallops ended up in the ER. I had shared a bite with my husband who also fell ill the next day but a relatively minor case.

Left two messages with the manager to inform them, no call back. Finally left message to whoever answered the phone that they needed to stop serving that batch of scallops. Still no call back. Clearly management does not care about patrons once the bill is paid.

Very sad to have such a horrible ending to what appeared to be a great restaurant.

Food was good enough for 3 stars, but extremely pricey for the quality. I've been to Michelin star quality places and the food just was not worth the prices. The atmosphere was certainly not fine dining, but more like a gastropub. Fun, friendly and local.

Trucker's finest old town combo watering hole and fine eats. Go for the times...music, high end bar and range of upscale to mid scale food.
