Wednesday at 11 am very quiet, great service and food!

Nice little hole in the wall Thai place to scratch that Thai food itch. Papaya salad was great. Everything else was adequate for a mountain town. Nothing mind blowing, but we enjoyed everything.

Very rude staff!

Ordered the crab rangoons for a starter. They were the best I have ever had and the dipping sauce was delicious too! I had the beef soup and my husband ordered number 45 w chicken. Both meals were really good but I would order 45 for myself next time! Cute Lil spot perfect for after the mountain.

Lovely Thai restaurant, not too far away from Truckee downtown. The food was very flavorful. Vegan friendly. Recommend the mango special curry, and the Hawaiian fried rice

I have to be honest- because despite the 2 stars this is the best thai in town (sorry other thai place), the food is excellent, people who work there are great, however- if youre vegan or vegetarian, meat very often slips into the dishes- especially if you order the vegetarian versions of the curries or soups. I havent eaten meat in 20 plus years except for by accident, at this restaurant. I stopped eating there many years back because of this, it doesnt just happen sometimes, it happens A LOT- and resumed going there several years later because it is still one of my favorite restaurants- but the same issue persisted. If you stick to non curry and soup dishes it will probably be fine- but it shouldnt feel like such a gamble, and its happened consistently for years so they should really sort out why this happens behind the scenes. Really disheartening for what is otherwise an excellent restaurant, especially since thai food is usually one of the few things that has a lot of options for vegans/vegetarians

I love having Thai Delicacy in town. The food is great, the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, and the staff are kind. Their lunch specials are a great value, and I equally enjoy dining in for dinner or intentionally ordering way too many entrees for takeout and housing them all while watching a movie at home. Like many other small restaurants in an active mountain town, every once in a while they are unexpectedly closed, but that's the exception to the rule. If you're in the area and looking for a flavorful and fun meal, pop in and enjoy!

Beyond the food being delicious, the employees are very kind and courteous even when the restaurant is very busy!

Very disappointed with the lack of service at Thai Delicacy. I visited today and waited half hour without being acknowledged or served. Despite trying to get the staff’s attention, I was completely ignored. Ended up leaving without ever receiving any service. Unacceptable experience—won’t be returning!

If I could give Thai Delicacy zero stars, I would. This was, without exaggeration, the most infuriating restaurant experience I’ve ever had.

We ordered takeout and were told it would be ready in 30 minutes. That was a lie. Nearly THREE HOURS later, after being repeatedly strung along with “just 15 more minutes” or “just two more dishes,” we finally got our food. Meanwhile, we watched multiple other customers dine in, eat, and leave before our takeout order was even acknowledged.

And the food? Calling it “Thai food” is an insult to the entire cuisine. The rice was a soggy, unappetizing mess, the noodles were congealed into a sticky clump, and absolutely nothing had any flavor. My dead dog could have cooked a better meal blindfolded.

Thai Delicacy didn’t just serve bad food—they served a total disregard for their customers’ time, money, and expectations. Save yourself the agony and order from literally anywhere else. This place isn’t worth a second of your life.

I would not eat this for free. Do not come here. This is not one of those Asian restaurants where the lower rating means you should come. We had a takeout order that took over 2 hours, where we were told multiple times that it was coming soon. People placed takeout orders after us, and they were on their way well before we got our food. When the food came, it was nowhere near palatable. The fried rice dishes were bland, mushy, and unappetizing. The pad see ew noodles were also unseasoned, maybe a bit better than the fried rice. Take your business elsewhere.

Incredibly slow service. Expect to wait until closing time 9pm if you order takeout at 6pm.

Ive eaten here before and liked it but i really hope they hire another person...
I get that for the size of the building it can be manageable with one person on a slow day but the thing is, I've never seen this place not busy.
I placed my order an hour ahead of time, and it wasn't done when I got there. Ontop of that, the pad se ew did not look like pad se ew, idk if they skipped the soy sauce on purpose, but the noodles were also a completely different texture. It was still tasty but not what I was expecting. The girl working the front is a sweetheart but I really did not enjoy watching her do everything by herself, like it would be such a better experience if they had just one person to do dine in and one person doing take outs.. plus 18% tip as the starting tip felt insulting for the overall quality. I didnt mind because I'm sure they work their ass off but I really hope they consider prioritizing the customer experience a bit more :)
