We were recently in the truckee area celebrating my sisters birthday and stumbled upon what we thought was a gem only to be discriminated against. I have been to many wineries and enjoy the experience of tasing different wines but this experience was far from what I expected. When we first walked into the establishment people gazed at us in a weird way and then the bartender took a while to even acknowledge that we were there. Due to our large party we asked if we could put the two unoccupied tables together so that we could sit together. Once we sat ourselves the owner came over to tell us that he wouldn't recommend all of us doing a tasting because they did not have enough glasses. How are you a winery without more than enough glasses? We should have left at that point but we stayed and a few ladies either had a glass or a tasting but the service was very unwelcoming and I would not recommend this place if you are used to great hospitality because they did not provide that at all. We are an educated group of women of color and I have always been able to be amongst a mixed crowd but I felt very discriminated against that day and I have never in my life felt the way I felt that day when we walked into Uncorked. We have to do better as a race of people as we are all the same.

So this was my first racism experience in my life to be told you can't order flights at a winery because of 10 black women came in... we was told it's too many of us and they don't have enough glasses... I was so confused... we had to walk up to the bar instead of being serve....where I live it's very diverse so this was a different type of experience I will not return to this establishment it's 2023 we got money business owners ourselves I would never treat anyone like that ever in life... do better Chris the owner

If I could give zero stars, I would. I went to Truckee for a girls cabin trip, and was so excited to wine taste. As we entered, uncorked, the excitement was not reciprocated. First of all it took a little while before the bartender even spoke to us after that the manager comes out and proceeds to tell us that he would not be able to service us flights if we wanted. When we tried to come up with other ways to still have the flight served but in one glass, he didn't like that idea, which doesn't make any sense. I decided not to give this place any of my money and honestly I strongly suggest if you're black, you don't do it either!

I went to Truckee for a weekend girls trip.. We were super excited to visit uncorked!. Once we got there one of the employees advise us that they would not be able to accommodate our party if we wanted to order flights, because they did not have enough wine glasses. He stated they needed the glasses for the customers that came in and it would take up too much time! Keep in mind we are customers that came in! The owner advised us to order one glass at a time in a condescending tone. Some of us ordered wine others refused to order anything. The experience was very uncomfortable and honestly, after that all of us girls just wanted to leave town and get back to our cabin (sorry for the rant) ..

Have had great experiences here before but came by at 7:15 on a Tuesday and they were closed despite their hours saying they are open until 8.
Stopped in today for a glass of wine before driving back home. For a predictably busy day, they were severely understaffed; one employee to service as many as 20+ guests at a time. She was doing her best, but should have had some backup. The selection was eclectic enough, but the busyness of everything meant no time for asking questions, tasting anything, etc. I'll give them another shot, but I hope next time it's a more relaxed vibe.

Uncorked is a wine merchant right in downtown Truckee. They offer a broad selection of bottles or several selections by the glass. They do also serve a few snacks if your visit includes a lot of sampling. Our host was pleasant and timely. The interior is fancy-rustic and a little dark. The a/c made for a nice and comfortable stop on a warm July day. The place is pretty pricey so we kept our visit brief.

Expected a wine bar to have above average service, especially the wine tasting selection offered on the menu. This is by far the worst tasting I've experienced and was a complete waste of money. The server seemed bothered if a question was asked of him. He only poured but offered no input or knowledge of any of the wines. You are on your own here. The owner showed up and offered only an arrogant and dismissive attitude (isn't he a certified sommelier?). So disappointing. This tops my list of worst wine tasting experiences. Will not return here and would never recommend.
