Have been going/ordering Kinnara for years. Their food never fails, always perfect, and the staff is amazing.

Amazing food, amazing service. Don't let the little commercial center fool you, this place is a must try. The staff is friendly and extremely attentive. The food is absolutely incredible. We got the soft shell crab and shrimp garlic fried rice. It came with a green sauce that was a beautiful accompaniment to the dish. Absolute must try. We also tried the yellow curry noodles with chicken. Although we originally thought this would be a pad Thai esque dish, we were presently surprised it was closer to ramen with a yellow curry broth. Lastly, there are several reviews commenting on the added service charge. If you are not willing to tip for incredible service, great food, and a wonderful experience then perhaps you should consider cooking at home instead of eating out. An absolute must try of a restaurant that I could not recommend enough.

THE OWNER was terrible and had an awful attitude towards her customers.

I decided to check out for the 1st time for my 30 minute lunch and ordered takeout to save time but when I arrived a male by the name of Gurt rudely let me know it was a flat NO to dine in. I asked why he said we could eat at the bar. I kindly let Gurt know his execution was extremely rude and the website does not state any policy of not being able to dine in takeout. I will not be coming back or recommend this place for any healthcare workers like myself who have a short limited time for lunch. I ordered the tom yum soup that I do not recommend as well, my co worker ordered chicken green beans with rice.

I used to live in the valley and would come here all the time. Now I live on the westside and tried 5 different Thai places near me that are walking distance and nothing comes close. I drove 30 minutes out of my way to come to Kinnara! They make the most amazing soft shell crab and add a side salad with it, it’s a soft shell crab salad! Then I get their yellow curry which is a staple and delicious but the drunken noodles is my favorite by far! Just the right amount of spice and flavor, this is by far one of the best Thai places in Southern California!

Order chicken teriyaki food was very bland, not a lot of flavor.

I've lived in Van Nuys for nearly twenty years and Kinnara was always the go-to for Thai. But man, they are ripoff artists and always have been. For years, when we ordered food for delivery, without fail, our credit card was compromised within a month. (They used to deliver to the neighborhood). We then saw one time that Kinnara was printing our entire credit card number on the receipt. So whether intentional or not, we were victims of credit card fraud every time we ordered from them. Every time we would get alerts of fraudulent charges on our credit card, so had to cancel, get a new one...a total pain in the butt. So, we only used cash. The food is damn good, great thai food; this is why we kept going there, if you're wondering. But then, one evening when we were dining at the restaurant, we caught them adding a 15% random charge to the bill. They slipped it in AFTER giving us the initial bill, and when we gave them the credit card (they no longer print the entire CC # on their bills). This happened several times. We had to ask them to remove the random 15% charge. Another time we dined there, they tried adding a random 8% charge. So, why did we keep going? The thai food was that good. But the last time we had dinner there (winter 2023) was the straw that broke the camel's back. They added an extra food item that we never ordered onto our tab. I caught it when reviewing the bill. We had to argue with them and they insisted we had ordered it. They refused to remove the added food, so I left no tip. I would like to say that the pandemic caused Kinnara to become desperate and use fraudulent means to get a little extra cash, but as I mentioned about the credit cards, they've been shady for eons now. So we are now hunting for our new favorite go-to Thai place in the SF Valley. There are a lot of options. Check out other 1-star reviews for Kinnara, you'll see the pattern. IF YOU STILL DECIDE TO EAT THERE, CHECK YOUR BILL WHEN THEY GIVE IT TO YOU!!!!!

One of the most amazing tasting delicious green curry I've had. Perfectly spiced and chicken was tender.

Great quality Thai food. I haven't been here in years, but I finally came back and the food is just as good, if not better since they opened years ago. I used to bring my two older kiddos here when they were little. My husband and I had the sampler, Tom yum soup and pork belly today, delicious! The service and ambience was excellent too!

We dined here yesterday evening with a friend, what a great find! Their friendly service and stunning Instagram worthy interior set the stage for a delightful culinary experience. Let's talk about the food magic! Tom Kha soup was flavorful and comforting, Chicken satay was a burst of flavors, and I loved the peanut sauce, which came with it, but it's unfair to serve such a small portion of that deliciousness! Drunken noodles had the perfect balance of spice, and the Pineapple fried rice turned up the spice-o-meter in the best way, such a delectable treat. Each dish showcased authentic Thai flavors, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Seriously, if you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out on a thai flavor fiesta!

My wife and I were heading home for the night and wanted some take out for dinner. The people welcome us is nice and the place has some family and Christmas vibe. I ordered the ribs. The meat was just a tad bit on the dry side like well done.

It's a nice and clean restaurant decorated with Thai theme. We ordered the salmon curry and chicken skewers. They both come with rice and salad. Overall, the food is good, though the curry is slightly on the sweeter side for my taste.Parking: Many adjacent businesses nearby, therefore parking is scarceWheelchair accessibility: Yes, it's wheelchair accessible

My husband found hair in his food. While they brought him a new one, they did not take off the charge from our check, which is unacceptable because many places we have been to before have taken other actions if something like this occurs. The manager said that the chef said they are still going to charge us because they gave us a new one, but they did not compensate us for the inconvenience. This was our first time at this restaurant and last.

Food : I've been coming to this place for YEARS! My dad and I love to go to Thai restaurants in SoCal and put them on a sort of tier list. We haven't found one that beats Kinnara yet! My favorite to order is the "Spicy Hot Basil" (garlic, bell peppers, basil, and I like getting it with fried tofu)! I get it every single time I come here. We bring our family and friends visiting from out of town here, and they all love it! Service: The staff here are always so sweet! We usually come throughout the week and they are so friendly and sweet! We've never had a bad experience with them. We always make small talk and talk about golf. The lady working here talked about her trip to Morocco and showed us pictures of her trip. They're always so sweet and sometimes add a little extra in our bags when we get food to-go. Ambiance: The decor is so beautiful and is always very clean. They have a modern take with some elements of Thai culture, which I love! They have music playing in the background, but not to the point that you can't hear and have to yell. Overall, if I could give this place 100 stars, I would! We found this place in Vegas and were so glad to hear they had one in SoCal. We'll keep coming here at least once every two or three weeks like we have been for the past few years. I'm so glad I found this gem in Van Nuys. Some food I recommend: - Spicy Hot Basil - Tamarind Shrimp - Tamarind Seabass - Seafood Pad Thai - Street Pad Thai - Topaz Shrimp
