Breakfast burrito is top five in LA. Super nice people, great vibe, delicious coffee. Banh mi sandwiches are also excellent.

Over the past year Lokal has been my absolutely favorite place in LA. If you’re a Venice/ Santa Monica or even marina del ray or Culver City local you have to start regularly coming here.
Not once have I had a bad dish or a bad guest experience. The staff is always incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food and bevvies are super consistent and have not had one miss on this menu.
Whether it’s an on the go AM coffee, a small lunch burger to refuel me or a cozy dinner sandwich to wrap up my day. This place has been the spot.
The prices are extremely reasonably ( if not the most reasonable in West LA) and again, can’t emphasize the overall consistency enough. Love ya lokal!!

Me and my wife tried the Banh Mi grilled chicken sandwich and the Chipotle chicken sandwich — both tasted really good and were packed with flavor. We sat outside, which made the experience even better, and it felt great enjoying the food in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

Yummmmmmm! Try the chimichurri steak sandwich or the K-bbq banh mi. Fries are good, too. Staff is super sweet, fast and helpful. Special thanks to Jasmine who corrected my silly mistake on my order today. We will be back!

Oh my goodness. Got the pork banh mi it tastes just like the ones in Vietnam 🥹Thanks you !
I'm sure I've reviewed Lokal before but they deserve another. Not only is the Impossible Burrito the absolute best vegan burrito/breakfast sandwich out there (so juicy and flavorful - available until 4pm) they are always improving their space and offerings.
Outdoor patio in the afternoon sun with unbeatable happy hour prices. A gem of a local spot. Good for getting some work done too (wifi and music.)

Where has this place been all my life?
For years, I thought people were talking about some random neighborhood joint… turns out they were talking about Lokal—and I’ve been missing out big time.
This place is a fusion comfort food wonderland. Vietnamese, Korean, Mexican… flavors from everywhere somehow working together in perfect harmony. If “food porn” had an entry in the dictionary, Lokal would be a strong contender for the cover photo.
My current obsessions:
Kpop Fries – Highly addictive. Proceed with caution.
Korean BBQ Banh Mi – Pure flavor explosion.
Chimichurri Steak – That sauce… someone needs to bottle it.
My only struggle here? Picking just one entrée per visit. Since I’ve hopped on the LA intermittent fasting train, I only get one big meal a day—meaning each visit is basically a full-on palate crisis.
If bold flavors and creative comfort food are your thing, put Lokal at the top of your list. And if you spot a guy with blonde hair, built shoulders, and the expression of someone facing the toughest decision of his week—that’s probably me.

a sandwich/banh mi specialist at the heart of Venice. I honestly was surprised that the place looked much cooler than I imagined before. It's more like a hype cafe with contemporary design, definitely beyond a classic neighborhood sandwich shop. I could surely see myself coming back and hanged here more.
I went for their Grilled Chicken Banh Mi, which seemed to be one of their most popular. It was marked spicy but for my spiciness tolerance it's actually pretty mild. Nonetheless, it was luscious and absolutely flavorful and I loved that the rich taste came more from the mix of ingredients than the sauce/condiments. The baguette did come in perfectly crispy texture and it's certainly stuffed abundantly. My Vietnamese Iced Coffee also was refreshing with bold coffee kick. Tad too sweet, but I still like it.

Bain Mi Oldskool was tasty and had good volume. The staff was nice and friendly. I’m sure they created this great atmosphere, and the visitors were nice, too.
