We stumbled into Mao’s Kitchen, hungry but with no expectations. Everything was incredible - unique dishes and flavors, friendly attentive service, and good vibes. It will be at the top of our list next time we are in Venice.

i try not to have my phone out during meals, but the food was so good that it made me want to watch anime. however, the food was so good that i could not focus on my show because i was too focused on how delicious the food was. they have a great mix of traditional chinese fare and american chinese. service is very nice. their tea could use some work though

I say this without trying to be rude, just constructive, but they should try their own hot and sour soup and see if they like it
Good food, vegan options available, busy place

I really enjoyed this casual spot with no-nonsense quality food. That wok fired flavor is so yummy! I had Chow Fun noodles with tofu. It was perfection 👌 Just don't be offended by their fortune cookies 😂

Terrible place. They stole $10 by adding a “1” to the tip after we paid exact bill with zero tip and wrote zero. Dirty tables and dishes, awful food, long wait of almost an hour. Dishonest and unacceptable. One star.

Unfortunately their cooking has nothing to do with authentic Chinese cuisine. Their dishes tasted bland and lacked spices and seasoning.

The General Tzo with smoked and fried tofu is good. With a side of hot sauce, serves two.

Ohh, the food was excellent. It is one of the best spots prize compare to the quality! Especially in the overpriced area, like Venice. Portions are huge and the place is really cheap.
We ordered Fried Rice with beef and shrimp.

I was really drawn in by the restaurant’s decor — the vintage-style paintings on the walls made me suspect it’s run by Chinese owners. Every table is served complimentary snacks that brought back memories of home. The portions are very generous and the value is great. The only downside is that the flavors are clearly adapted and quite different from authentic Chinese cuisine. For example, the cumin lamb we ordered had pears stir-fried in it, creating a mix of sweet, spicy, and salty that was hard to enjoy. But considering it’s a foreign country, the taste is acceptable. The owner was very friendly and the service was quick. If you’re truly looking for authentic Chinese food, just be aware it’s been adjusted for local tastes.
