“Busy little place. I recommend ordering ahead. My son is a big fan and most of the sandwiches. I tried the vegetarian eggplant Parmesan. It was delicious. My daughter got the caprese with gluten free bread. She gave it a thumbs up. My mom has had a breakfast sandwich which was good too. Great place near the boardwalk for a sandwich. Eggplant fries with tomato sauce was the best.

Vegetarian options: They have a vegan sandwich on the menu. I have had it before it was good but online I didn’t notice it. There are a few vegetarian choices. They have almond ricotta on one.“

“The best place on the Westside to get The Lord's Chicken Sandwich. Been going since they opened a few years ago and it's still the go to. The Drive-Thru is efficient and in these trying times, they go ABOVE AND BEYOND health and safety measures to limit physical customer interaction. The only fast-food place I've been to that serves you your food on a literal tray! Food is always on point and tastes as fresh as when God created it. Plus if you sign up for the Chick-fil-A One app, Amanda is always hooking it up with free food because she knows what's up. P.S. Make sure you stay checking those receipts for Free Chicken Sandwiches!!!“

“Today, 6.20.24, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the ordering process and, even though they are take-out only, they welcomed me with a cup of water and had plenty of shaded seating while you wait. Even during the lunch rush, the staff were prepared and poised. Would highly recommend!
Note: parking in their lot can be tight but the neighborhood just south of Beverly has parking, just read the signs.“

Had to say that first because we order so much food ha!

Their waffle fries are amazing! Dare I say better than Chick-Fil-A!

They don’t have many gluten free options. According to the others, the bread just tasted like regular white bread. The cream and strawberry sandwich was not magical. This one was out of stock of many of the food and drink items.

I will say try the strawberry milk!! So good!
Not much seating except outside and one or two tables inside.

I see an image on here where they have more tables inside against the orange wall, they are no longer there.

Bathrooms were locked even when we asked them to use them.

You get a good value for money when it comes to the portion sizes. Not sure I’ll go back but was worth the try ?

“When I tell you this place is incredible… on every point! Food amazing, atmosphere is such a vibe, service and staff are so welcoming and accommodating and QUICK!

We ordered the following for 3 people and were stuffed and had plenty of leftovers:

- chips and trio of salsa: I am still mind blown about the variety of salsas, the flavor complexity, the range of spice and ingredients in each. 10/10

- squash blossoms (forgot to take picture): so delightful, stuffed with a cheese mixture and the perfect consistency and crunch on the fried blossom. 10/10

- 3 mole plate: loved trying the different mole options, my palate is not quite as seasoned when it comes to mole so I favored the “traditional” sweeter brown mole. Would just get this one next time (forgot what they called it) 8.7/10

- carne asada plate: an assortment of Oaxacan cheese, grilled cactus, beans, mole enchilada, and the most tender, flavorful and juicy steak. Just wow 10/10

Churros: omg…. Just omg. Melt in your mouth churros, most DELECTABLE Mexican dark chocolate to dip them in… I dream about these 10/10

This is now our go-to Mexican spot. Such an elevated take on our traditional Mexican food outings. Prices were very fair especially for the quality and ambiance of this places picking up a to-go order as we speak.

It’s worth noting that we went with our friend who was born in Mexico City and has had the best of the best Oaxacan food and she was floored by this place!“

“I love that the food here is clean and perfectly healthy for my body and soul. That being said, it's more expensive than other places and I don't mind as long as I get what I'm paying for. The last time I ordered the teriyaki bowl (my favorite), the broccoli was so overcooked it'd fall apart before I got a chance to put it in my mouth. Another time the brown rice in the teriyaki bowl was so undercooked it hurt to bite on it. It's only been a couple of disappointments so far. Still, I'm not happy that I'm paying x amount of dollars for a broccoli or rice that I can cook way better at home. Food overall is delicious when prepared correctly.“

“I went to Box Chicken for the first time today and picked up 2 box meals and an extra box of chicken tenders. “Health Nut is always a must when I am in southern california. I love the Santa Monica location, the restaurant is always clean, the employees are friendly and the food comes out quick. The tuna panini with a side of tomato bisque is my go to order, with the noodlerama as a close second. The sandwich is delicious every time, my only note is that the tomato soup could be a little less oily and more creamy. Overall a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat, either dine in (nice outdoor patio) or to-go.

“Freshly made food, several flavors to choose from, the chicken is nice and crispy, never greasy and definitely white meat! Downside is just that since it is not precooked it does take a while to wait for your meal, and the atmosphere is that of fast food with uncomfortable seats, loud music, and voices carry very well making this a very loud environment and difficult to visit with friends or family while eating in. They do have a patio you could take advantage of but it's right next to PCH and a busy side street.
I do like the option of ordering at the kiosk, I don't like that it still asks for you to leave a tip even though you pick your own food up at the counter and clean up after yourself. Otherwise, in the future I will be ordering ahead and just picking up and eating at home or on the beach!“

“I own and operate a walking food tour company, so I know a thing or two about the restaurant scene, particularly in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, so hope that gives a little context to my review.

So, my review...This. Place Is. Great! I ordered the "God Save the Quinoa"...quinoa is my favorite grain...and it was perfect. It has all the things you'd want...Kalamata olives, onions, peppercini's and perfectly cooked grilled chicken. But the real star of any salad is the dressing...and this dressing did not disappoint. It's' a lemon vinaigrette, which sounds simple, but there was a little kick to it and something else that I couldn't identify, but I loved it.

John, the owner, has worked for some major superstar chefs and institutions, so he knows what he's doing. He's doing all the basics right while upleveling them in just the way that you'd want. Can't wait to go back and try a different salad or a sandwich.

This neighborhood needs more restaurants like Mad Rebel...healthy choices made from organic and quality ingredients that don't break your budget. If you're shopping at the Beverly Center or staying at a nearby hotel, this should definitely be on your list while in the area. Cheers!“

“This place is amazing! Pretty much a hidden gem. It has your regular cafe menus and a bar, and a TV to watch sports! You can basically come here and drink while you shop at Bloomingdales. Or wait for your spouse and drink here while they shop.
