Excellent pastries. The loons who gave this place on star have no idea how a pastry should be baked. Not for the Dunkin’ Donut crowd.

Wasn't impressed with what I would assume were yesterdays croissants that were left out over night and the pricing really needs to be worked on because 3 pastries and a mocha for 23$ is pushing

Butter and Fold is FABULOUS. The team is welcoming, friendly and committed to the highest quality of food and drinks. I regularly enjoy croissants from Izola, in the east village of San Diego and voted the best croissant in 2022 by yelp AND B&F comes close to the same buttery interior and flaky exterior that makes a perfect croissant. Simply excellent croissants! I love them so much I haven’t tried their other pastries yet. As an espresso *snob* I appreciate that they always give great care to a perfectly calibrated shot. They are adventurous with the beans they use and it’s a delightful experience to try different roasters through B&F. The beautiful interior is relaxing and comfortable. GREAT JOB B&F!

$16 dollars for 3 small pastries is absurd. The croissants are okay but never consistent. Sometimes burnt! Last two times I went, I regretted going. If you want coffee, Ventura has better

Not sure .. does "French Style Bakery" mean ..'all burned baked goods'? It looked like every item for sale was baked at the same time on a very large sheet. Everything was evenly burned. While listed online as 'Drinking Chocolate' it looked to be Hersheys syrup mixed with frothy milk It was tasteless and plain (nice foam flourish). The only thing remotely chocolate about it was the colour.Beautiful building and great location near to me.... but vastly overpriced for burnt pastries and bland chocolate coloured drinks.Harry & David offer the best Hot Chocolate base out there. They are so clever.... they use real chocolate ground down. It melts into the hot milk for cupful that, unlike Butter and Folds version, is sweet and deeply chocolate.Wont go in again except to see if perhaps burning everything in the display was an accident.
The most AMAZING pastries and coffee with the coolest vibe! The service is wonderful and this place is a true gem! Can’t wait to come back!

It's a charming place, much needed in Ventura. I have given it a few tries, and baked goods are ok, consistently overbaked, under proofed, and too salty. I'd go back for the atmosphere and coffee but would skip the baked goods next time.
