“Found La Playa thanks to their amazing Yelp reviews. We visited on 10/8 which unfortunately was their last day in business at this location.Like my fellow Yelp family commented- service was super friendly and helpful and the restaurant clean. We arrived about 1130 and there was already a line out the door.In all:5/ 5 Hot chicken sandwich- the biscuit was perfection! Crisp on the outside yet warm and delicate on the inside. The chicken breast was seasoned perfectly and delicious!5/5 Shrimp and Grits- my husband couldn't stop talking about this and claims it could be the best shrimp and grits he has ever had. Grits had a nice spicy kick- with just enough heat to impart flavor and not kill you. 5/5 Cafe de olla- I had this served hot. Excellent cinnamon flavor.Everything was fantastic and we left wishing we could come back again. La Playa- you exceeded pur expectstions. Hope to see you again and good luck.“
“My only true complaint about this Lazy Dog is that it's not closer to where I live. I love Lazy Dog but there's none in the north 818 so if Ive got a craving, I gotta jump on the 101 and drive up to Oxnard.The staff here is always nothing short of wonderful. They're always friendly, helpful, accommodating for a family with 3 small kids, and in the rare instance that there's a delay in the food coming out or a mistake, they're quick to apologize and make good. It's something I wish other restaurants would do as well. It's not hard to do.Food here is good. It's nothing classy, but it's full of fun, flavorful takes on classic restaurant food. I've had several things here and have never been disappointed. My go to, however, is the PB&J bacon burger. Don't let the PB&J turn you away. It's so good! Perfect blend of sweet & savory. I also want to shout out their beers. They're fantastic. They offer a great beer club subscription that, once again if I lived closer to a location, I would sign up for in a heartbeat. If you live close to this location and like their beers, it seems like a no brainer to me to sign up.“
“Super good service. Seated us quickly, helped pick out some appetizers and got us them quickly. Goat cheese with chilli sauce is really really good. Edamame also was seasoned well and was a great order. Manager gave us some fries to try for our first visit and talked to us for a bit. Overall just a really great experience. Good job to the staff.“
“Stumbled upon this place by accident. Was actually thinking of walking out. However, I decided to give it a shot & I’m glad I did. It was on a Sunday afternoon, Karaoke Sundays. They had some good singers, which turned up the vibe. I had their Avocado Taco & Camaron a la Diabla and it was delicious. Fresh and just the right flavor. Waiters were very attentive.“
