If you’re a seafood taco lover, do yourself a favor and make the trip—no matter how far—to Spencer Makenzie’s Fish Company in Ventura, California. I’ve driven several hours more than once just to eat here, and every time it’s 100% worth it.
The fish tacos are unreal—hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, super fresh, and packed with flavor, with just the right amount of crunch and spice. They’re the kind of tacos that ruin you for all others.

Spencer Makenzie's is a cool place that serves delicious food. Their menu features a variety of options, including tempura shrimp soft tacos, halibut and chips, asada tacos, and fish tacos, which are often described as the best and are fantastic. The restaurant offers a good beer selection and plays great music. With a great staff and fast service at the pick-up window, it's a great spot to grab a bite. They also have a focus on seafood and use fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The clam chowder is a must try and the cheesy hardshells truly make the experience.
