There is a lot to unpack here. This is not a legitimate French bakery. They sell “French” pastries but these pastries are made by a bunch of kids (without gloves) using pre-prepared stuff.This place smells BAD. I was shocked that anyone could eat their food without worrying about food poisoning.I went in and considered ordering something but then I saw that the place just had a bunch of kids putting together pastries made from premade fillings etc. along with the smell, I couldn’t. My issue with this is, in any legitimate French bakery, there is ALWAYS a French owner on site overlooking the food preparation. And this always reassures me that the food is being prepared fresh and correctly. Not here. This place is gross.The cashier was nice. She greeted me with a smile and was very up beat. But as I was asking her questions I saw a kind who looked to be 16 preparing food without gloves on. That mixed with the atrocious smell of this place makes me think there will be a health violation here at some point.I will not be going back ever.

I ordered a 3 leches cake for my wife's birthday and wich i paid $40 for an 8" cake and when we cut into it the cake was dry! There was no moisture in the cake as a 3 leches should be and there was no indication that it would be made differently. When I went in to talk to the manager I was told that there is no refunds because that's how they make it. I'm very disappointed with the way they handled this situation not even an apology. I will be getting my cakes from Northgate from now on as they make real 3 leches cakes and a better price.

Great pastries! Legit 10/10 Great service! Omelettes are great. I'm going to give the bacon croissant a 7.5 though. That's not bad at all, but skimpy on the egg and cheese, bacon perfect and top half not toasted. Maybe it's shrink-flation... Had a latte and palmier with breakfast 8.0 on the latte (I've had a few 9.5s here, depends on who makes it) and that palmier was pushing a perfect 10. My family background is pastry, not donut, so I'm going to be the hardest on their pastries... They're FABULOUS. Fabulously legit! Mostly butter flour sugar... And it makes a difference. So good. I'm not a fruit tart guy, but their Custard and fruit tarts are out of this world and taste even better than they look and they look FABULOUS. Bl Knowing I can come here any time makes me happy... I would be sad if this place closed. Thank you French Bakery French guy for bringing the French sun to Vista. #gratitude

I thought this was the same company as the one off Carlsbad Village Dr. I guess not, the pastries are not as good as they used to be. I feel like they are skimping on butter and just getting a bit sloppy. The croissant dough is not flakey and golden and this is what is used in a large amount of pastries. The creme brûlée was not the best either. I feel like vanilla beans were not used and extract was used instead. Lower amounts of creme for the custard. Small things that some would not recognize but that seperate a good French bakery from a bad one. I give the food a 3/5 but the service is terrible and really causes harm to the overall experience . I gave this place a few try's lately and Every-time I feel like I need to really go out of my way to be extra friendly just to get service. Like im burdening the young girl behind the counter just by arriving. I Have to always ask for napkins, fork, etc., and its like the biggest task to turn around and get a plastic fork. If someone buys something to eat maybe ask them if they would like a utensil to eat it with.It used to be good here and While anyone can surely bake french pastries that is trained, It can be easy to unknowingly incorporate different baking techniques into the food. Just something to keep in mind in making the pastries better here. Stick to French technique only. I hope to change the rating soon. I know you probably put alot of hard work into things and I really would love to give you 5 stars. I will give it a few more trys and hopefully will see improvements.

I got a dirty chai that is unpictured, but tasty! I asked for Sriracha, but they didn't have it so they offered those delicious fresh, grilled Jalapeños and Tapatío. So good!

Decent pastries and fairly tasty with good variety but very poor service & atmosphere.My family and I arrived at 5pm (2 hours before closing) at this place; no customers inside and 80% of chairs and tables were stored/folded giving you the impression that store is closed…Next, we made our order; without being asked whether we would want to have the pastries inside or for to go, they made the assumption that’s for to go, which wasn’t.Next, I had to ask for plates, forks, knives,… they only had 2 plates left! With one having a yellow stain on it. Disposable knives and forks and not the same color (one black and one white). No napkins anywhere either and I had to ask again.This place could be a 4 start but due to above mentioned issues, it gets my 2 star rating overall.
