What a gem! We were looking for a sit-down spot that served authentic Lebanese food, and this place absolutely hit the mark. The service was warm and knowledgeable, and the food was incredibly delicious. The space is casual yet stylish, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. Highly recommend!

Shaks Mediterranean Bistro straight-up hides charges and hopes you won’t notice. They added an 18% fee without telling me and buried it on the payment device. I tried calling multiple times to get an explanation — they ignore every call and never call back. This place knows exactly what they’re doing, and it’s shady as hell.

I have sent so many for years and years to this restaurant for so many years and every person has said 10 out of 10. Vista is lucky they came from Carlsbad….Don't miss out on this food:))))

HORRIBLE customer service. The “owner,” Andrew, asked my family to leave while my kids were in the middle of eating because our food was supposedly “for takeout,” even though there were plenty of empty tables. I explained that my children were hungry—my youngest is only one year old—but he still insisted we leave. It’s disappointing to see someone choose profits over basic kindness and understanding. What’s worse is that he’s the one who originally sat us down, only to change his mind and ask us to leave moments later. Truly unacceptable behavior from a local business. Do not recommend this place.

We have enjoyed Shak's since before they were in Vista (Mediterranean cafe in Carlsbad) but our visit last week was a turn-off. The salads came with only 1 Kalamata olive (which I love) and when I asked to get a couple more was told I'd have to order a side of them :( Then, when one of our guests was unsure of selecting the garlic sauce because I warned him it was STRONG, he asked for a small taste of it to help him decide and was denied. Along with the higher prices, these little things will be remembered when deciding where to take friends for dinner next time.
Shaks never misses. The chicken kebab plate is perfectly seasoned and grilled to juicy perfection tender, flavorful, and balanced with rice that ties it all together. But the real star? That pillow-soft pita bread. It’s so fresh it practically melts in your mouth. Every bite feels like comfort and quality on one plate. Salad never miss either!
