One of the best "Japanese-theme" american restaurants I've been to. This is the place for delicate taste buds. Even their wasabi is like soft mayo. It transcends space and time. It transports you to a different place. It feels like you're right in the heart of Oklahoma eating sushi.
A great place when you want good sushi without the premium price tag. It's my go-to, we eat here weekly. It's not a very pretty restaurant, but the food is solid and I'm grateful to have Kaiwa in walnut creek.
Kaiwa used to be our go-to place for sushi and other Japanese treats. But, coming back for our first post-pandemic visit on a Friday night, we were struck with how few tables were filled on a bustling Locust St evening.
