The Little Pear

So pleasant to sit outside with my friend and colleague and enjoy a delicious lunch and a yummy cocktail. I had the Prickly Pear Margarita and the Grand Mere sandwich, which had Brie cheese chicken breast and arugula with aoili on some lovely crusty bread. My friend had the Pear Blosdom cocktail and the Butternut Squasy Ravioli, topped, by special request, with roasted pears! We finished with a Pear tart with ice-cream. It was a most excellent lunch. Our server was very good also. Highly recommend.

As of now, This is my favorite lunch spot! My go to on the menu is the ice tea, potato wedges and Caesar salad with salmon and added anchovies. Nice outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating as well. Parking is street parking which is a hit or miss on find a good spot to park.

Really wanted this to be great since we live in the building and would love a place we can go “downstairs” for an easy dinner. Not the case. So much potential though.

We’ve supported this restaurant since it opened but sadly our last visit was horrible. My beef stroganoff had clearly been sitting and was reheated and my wife’s prawns were barely edible. Our server took my wife’s dish and brought the desert menu while I was trying to eat my worse than TV dinner stroganoff then she disappeared forever.
Really, really disappointing.

I've been to The Peasant and the Pear in Danville a lot. I've been to a few of the other restaurants by Rodney Worth as well. It is a bit formulaic. No real surprises. You go there because you know what you're going to get. It was the first time for us at this restaurant.

I had the short rib and it was magical! I was very surprised and I enjoyed every minute of it. I would have this again in a minute

On the other hand, my husband ordered the beef stroganoff. And what we were expecting is that beautiful creamy white sauce with the great mouth feel. This was more brothy sauce. Would not order this at all again. It may have been an interpretation of beef stroganoff, but that's a classic comfort food and what we got was not what we were expecting.

I thought this was a very good spot and would come back, I enjoyed my food, service and atmosphere. I had a Reuben, and it was good, clearly homemade and thick sliced corned beef. Fries were awesome. Also had the Burrata for the appetizer which was great. Draft beer selection could have been better but had a good beer I do like.
$135 including tip for 1 app, 3 drinks, 2 sandwiches. Was a nice dinner date place.

Was closed for private party so no opinion we read the note on front door and had to find another place to eat after paying for parking

We’ve come here as a family a couple times, and it’s becoming a favorite! Food and drinks are tasty, with lots of great options. Friendly and attentive service is what really sets this place apart. Kid-friendly while still maintaining a classy vibe…not an easy balance to strike! I think our server was named Joyce…she took good care of us and we enjoyed a great meal!

Great little spot for good food and a laid back vibe. I highly suggest their spicy chicken sandwich, arguably one of the best I've had.

My friend and I had dinner here! First time and OMG im so glad we found this gem! The food is so good! Such a home cooked meal vibe! We cant wait to go back and try other things!

Tried for the first time. Horrible food. Really wish I had ordered from Cheesecake Factory instead.
The Caesar Salad was JUST cheese shavings on lettuce. The dressing was worse than something off the shelf.
The meat spaghetti was at least flavorful. The linguini was bland.

Wow!!! What a gem! I had the lamb and it was 10000% worth every bite! Thank you to the chef and the staff for being incredible and loving the craft that is food!

Slow night inside, service was excellent and snappy. Food was.. average. Ordered the Julia Child's Beef Bourguignon. I was just looking for a tasty dinner - unfortunately this was not prepared according to her recipe, nor anyone else's for that matter.
Where was the bacon? Where were the mushrooms? The onions?
Overall this tasted like it came out of cans.
