They were expensive with barely anything in there & rude because I chose to take my business elsewhere. So I would give negative stars if I could.

Drinks are great, service is really good, but the pastries are superb. Perfectly flaky crust, nice glass sugar dusting, and the filling if sweetinf, but not over powering. We got stuck overnight in Weed CA, but this little Café was definitely a highlight. Also be able to give the kids a little bit of internet made being stuck much more bearable.

The food is awesome. I've not had the coffee. The employees, though, are as snotty as can be. They act like you're putting them out when you ask to buy something. I was a 20-something once, so I get it, but my employers made me try to be friendly when interacting with customers. This place takes a different tack, I guess. The place would be a lot better if it weren't for the rude employees.

Rustic coffee shop with baked treats. We had a tuxedo mocha (our server had to ask someone else what that was, though tuxedo hot chocolate was the posted special). I should have asked for "half-sweet" as it turned out to be very thick. The fresh bearclaw we bought didn't seem very fresh. Meanwhile, the day-old chocolate muffin was tasty, moist, and rich despite literally falling apart in our hands. A very messy deliciousness.Clean bathroom available. ??

When I walked into this place, all three ladies behind the counter were staring at their cell phones. No, Hello, welcome in! I ordered two sandwiches, two cookies, including one breakfast cookie, and a Pepsi. Cost $35. The bread on the sandwiches was dry and crumbly. I don't know if this is gluten-free bread, or if the bread is stale. Did not order coffee. Based on level of service and quality of food, I'll skip this place and go elsewhere the next time I pass through.
I ordered a latte and it was OK. The place is cute, and we were excited to stop and get a hot drink and treat. Unfortunately, I had not read the reviews before stopping. I wouldn't say the staff were rude, but definitely indifferent. They forgot an item and seemed put out when we reminded them of it. On the positive, the smoothie was tasty, and the pastry was good.

I checked the reviews: a recent one complained about the bathroom. Well, I went anyway and the bathroom was very clean. This is a sweet place to grab a sandwich. We usually keep driving and eat at one of the rest stops along 5; you can also eat it at Ellie's, of course. It's not fine dining, but the sandwiches are freshly made to order. There are also a range of bakery items that look good, but we haven't tried them.

Friendly environment. It has become a place I visit while traveling through town.

menu is pretty basic. the girl said there was no croissant even though there was like 5 in the case until we pointed it out. I agree that the service is pretty bad, it's 3 teenage girls chatting the whole time that have staring problems. They don't use gloves to make the food and just have 2 microwaves in the kitchen to make the food. Took like 20 minutes to get a ham and cheese croissant and a plain croissant because they were just chatting so much. $5 for a Yerba mate too. don't recommend.
