Note: MYO Sushi closes on April 11th! The owner is working hard on his own, so make sure to call your order in ahead of time and if you can, tip big!MYO Sushi has been through a rough spot during the pandemic, but I'm glad I got to stop in again to eat their generous portions and super affordable meals. MYO Sushi has a number of different options from poke bowls, sushi rolls, and a few other Japanese entrees all for about $10-$15 each.I ordered the salmon poke and the California rolls. These items came with a miso soup, edamame, sweet potato tempura, and some seaweed salad. The first thing you'll notice when you order is just how much food you get. For literally $22, we had enough food to definitely eat for 2-3 people and a big bag to show for it. And it's not only the quantity but also the flavor is on point. The CA roll is super solid with generous portions of crab (not just rice). The salmon poke bowl too was super on point. The salmon is of good quality and the bowl itself came with avocado, onion, jalapeños, crab meat, fish eggs, and sauce.Looking for the shop, it's next to the tea shop (a little dark at night as a heads-up). The owner is super kind and working hard. I recommend calling in your order!

Goodbye to this local favorite!!! :( The owner, Dennis, said their last day was on April 11th. They were a great spot for high schoolers to start jobs, people to enjoy quality food at a great price, and so many memories to be made. I'm upset that COVID was a big factor on them closing and they will surely be missed. I don't know anywhere else that provided such genuinely caring service shown through the helpful staff, free sides (seaweed salad, edamame, fried sweet potato slices, and miso soup) with every order, and the fact that tip was always denied! When covid hit, they were open for takeout but the owner was the only one working here. Waits were around at least 30 mins or more but Dennis was completely apologetic about it and it works out better if you called ahead of time. He worked so hard doing mostly everything on his own and keeping it alive and his work ethic was admirable. I tried to support them and go as much as I could during there last month but I'm sad they closed down. Some of my favorites: - Salmon Skin bowl - Poke bowls - Spicy Tuna sushi burrito or cut roll - Fresh Fruit Smoothies - Tea with aloe cubes - back when they had "points/MYO cash" cards and they could be redeemed for some cute gifts or kitchenware I'm going to miss them so much because they were a big part of my high school and college years! Thank you to all of the staff and owners that has worked there over the years for helping create this wonderful place in my heart. I wish all of you the best futures(:

I came to support MYO Sushi on their last day of business as well as a few days ago. I regret not having written a review all these years and I'm sad I'll be losing one of my most affordable places to eat. The owner is kind and incredibly hard-working and I wish him all the best. As the 3rd customer of the last day, it was very touching to see how many customers came to support him...the phone lines were ringing off the hook. Keep supporting small businesses!

very saddened to hear that MYO sushi closes today. my fiancé and I had to order and show our support one last time. I remember its grand opening back in 2013; it quickly became our go-to poké place. pre-Covid this place was one of our fave spots to dine-in on Fridays. thank you MYO sushi for all your delicious food! you're a local gem in WestCo that will be missed. thank you especially to Dennis--you were always so kind to us and always had a smile on your face. you made us look forward to coming back. we wish the staff at MYO all the best. thank you, thank you!

I write this with full bitter feelings- because it's Mr. MYO Sushi's last day today. I didn't get to try this place until 2 days ago (only after hearing it from SGV Eats) and outraged that I live only 2 minutes away!!!! On the first day- two days ago, I just got a regular salmon bowl ($10.95) because the owner said the steak bowl and salmon skin fries would take too long to make and he was WAAY BACKED UP on orders from the huge amount of support for this sweet man who was working alone, taking orders in person and on the phone and making food the entire day. I could tell this rice bowl was made in a rush- the amount of ingredients didn't typically match what was in the photos, but it was still SO GOOD?! Wow.. I mean how? The house sauce he drizzled really built flavor onto the rice, and I am absolutely just BLOWN AWAY from the imitation crab. Not one restaurant that I've gone to has ever actually seasoned and sauced their imitation crab meat, but this meat was! It tasted so great, a bit of pepper for the spice, and the flavor was just.. powerful. The salmon tasted very fresh and melts in your mouth like butter. No funky, oceanic taste to it. He uses top notch ingredients. I knew it would be game over if he prepared it with time and not too backed up with so many orders. 2nd day (& sadly last day of MYO SUSHI), the owner had help and another chef there-- I finally got the Hangar steak bowl with avocado, fried red onions, roasted mushrooms ($10.95) and small salmon skin fries ($4.95). Instantly blown away from how much food there was for only ~$17. When I saw the amount of how much salmon skin and fries and crab meat and avocado that was on it, I actually questioned if it would taste good because that amount for $5 cannot possibly beat the taste??? Fortunately, I was wrong. Suffice to say- even if it was my first time tasting salmon skin, it was delish. The spicy mayo sauce was fireeeee. Usually it comes with jalapeños but he ran out. The only thing I didn't like was the crinkle-cut fries. I just don't like this type of fries in general. It wasn't crispy- it was just soft inside and out. The steak bowl was FILLLEEDDD to the top with so much food. I took a piece of the fried red onions and WOW. UNHEALTHY GOODNESS. that's what i would get if i wanted to eat without a care in the world. it was spice-filled while you get a bit of the crunch from both the breading and the onion. The roasted mushrooms were great. Just tasted like mushroom so that's all I have to say about it. The steak was okay, tasted great all together, but not alone. I don't think I actually had hangar steak before (I could be wrong), so I am not knowledgeable about the quality and cut of the meat, so this is based on my own personal feelings toward the steak. It was a little bit chewy but there were also some really great pieces of steak. The house sauce is *chefs kiss*, all the way. I've already touched based on the other aspects of a rice bowl. Great experience enjoying this. The bowls also come with a side of salad with thousand island dressing, two deep-fried sweet potatoes, pickled ginger and wasabi, and miso soup. Again, so much food for the price you pay!!! I personally wasn't a fan of the fried sweet potato because it tasted a bit too greasy for me, but if you're a person who indulges in that greasy goodness, you'll love this. All I feel is content from the food- but so, so sad from what become one of my favorite places- is gone after today. I really hope when he meant 'gone', is just during the pandemic and he can come back after stronger than ever. And on an ending note, Quality ingredients. Massive portion sizes for the price you get, but NOT sacrificing the taste (deliciousness!!). A man who is passionate about the service he gives and the food he makes.

I found out about this place on Facebook and wished I discovered this place sooner! Super friendly and nice owner who is likely the one taking your order and making it too. On our first visit, BF and I were debating between the rolls or the bowls. At the owner's suggestion that the portion is larger with the bowl, we got the poke bowl and katsu bowl. Both came with a side of lettuce + seaweed salad, tempura, edamame and miso soup! We also picked up the soft-shell crab roll and that comes with all the sides too. Both bowls were packed full and I had plenty to enjoy the next day. I scarfed down the soft-shell crab roll so there was nothing to save for leftovers. While we were waiting for the food, we noticed that M.Y.O. Sushi also had an item called the thicc burrito. We came back the next day to order that for dinner, along with the salmon skin fries. We were stuffed just with the two items (and the accompanying sides)! Since we live in SGV, it's a bit of a drive to here, but I'm already craving my future orders of the thicc burrito! I heard that M.Y.O. Sushi's last day is April 11 (this weekend), so I'm definitely going to squeeze in another visit or two before then.

Food tasted really bad...... I am so sorry and didn't meant to say these but I do have to be honest with my experience. I am sure due to covid this local business is taking a big hit. At first, the restaurant has no ac on, restaurants inside itself is very dirty. That does make me a little concern with the safety of the food. I paid total of 23 for soft shell crab roll and a salmon bowl. Well definitely try to support local business but I do wish the owner put into more effort into the food and customer experience.

MYO was one of my go-to places when I was at CPP. Fish quality, quantity, and flavor was worth it!!! The owner and staff were always great and continues to be wonderful. Despite the pandemic, the quality and the service of the owner did not change.Hopefully, MYO will continue to thrive post pandemic and return to its amazing atmosphere. Will try to come back here every time I'm in the area!

The poke bowls were tasty as usual and came with a lovely side of salad, edamame, and fried sweet potatoes. Called ahead of time for pick up and the owner was very nice and kind over the phone as well as the service when picking up. Great mom and pop shop that has been around for a while, and the quality hasn't changed even with so much time. Would definitely recommend stopping by and picking up some dinner, and supporting a local business here and Walnut, California. Would definitely recommend the salmon poke Bowl

This is the best Sashimi Bowl in town!

Amazing service and food! The owner was super friendly and attentive. If you're in the west covina area and is craving poke or sushi consider giving this place a try, you will definitely want to come back. Generous portion sizes is also a plus. One poke bowl and a roll of sushi is enough for two people. But it is the customer service that has won me over at myo sushi.

Highly recommend! The portions are huge, the price are super reasonable, and the owner is the sweetest man ever! Saw a post about the owner struggling so I decided to come out and boy was I glad i did! I placed my order over the phone and I misheard 15 minutes to 50 minutes.. not a big deal as I didn't mind waiting but oops. I think me waiting there put pressure on him to rush.. He was already working on 2-3 other big orders and someone was picking up an order in the restaurant as well. In the half an hour I waited, he kept apologizing that he would get to my order as soon as he can in between taking phone orders and people walking in to order/pick up. He didn't forget about me and told me it'll be coming up. I really had no problem waiting as 1) I'm pretty sure I misheard 15 instead of 50 minutes 2) He was obviously very busy 3) he was man handling EVERYTHINGGG on his own. With the phone ringing almost every 5 minutes, people walking in to order, and pick ups and him trying to make everyone orders in time. While he seems busy at the moment, I'm sure he's still struggling without the consistent business. I ordered the thicc burrito and omg.. for $15+tax, this was HUGEEE and it came with sides that I was not expecting. So in all, a hugee burrito (filled with salmon, spicy tuna, and some fried stuff) salad, edamame, fried tempura and a miso soup!! Suchh a great price. I ate half of my burrito and was too full to finish it. Definitely something that can be shared. Next time i'll make my own burrito or get a bowl or maybe a roll.. Still undecided. The fish tasted pretty fresh to me even 20 minutes in a car ride back. I'm not a salmon person (I prefer tuna) and thought the salmon was pretty buttery to me. Overall: My experience here was great (Even with the wait). I did not mind. He was very upfront letting people know that he was behind and orders would take 30-50 minuets. He does not forget about you when you're in the store. Continuously to apologies about the wait (which is not necessary in my opinion), generous with the portion, ANDDD refuses to accept any tip. You really have to push him to try to take the tip. He won't allow you with a CC as he handles the transaction, so recommend having a few bucks to tip him with cash!! Oh and he does this all with a smile and says thank you every time he speaks to you. You can tell he's very grateful fo the business even though he's backed up at times. I highly recommend waiting possibly outside the store so he doesn't feel pressure to rush. I should've done this and will do so next time.

The owner here is so so sweet!! Food was good, good prices, and very friendly. Please be patient with the owner as he is the only one working right now but its definitely worth the wait! I got a salmon sashimi bowl, seafood bowl, spicy tuna roll, and salmon skin fries. Everything was delicious!

Saw a post on SGV Eats about the owner struggling to stay afloat during the pandemic. In the early days of dating my boyfriend, we came here once for lunch & liked a lot but we've since moved from the area and haven't been around. Extremely happy to support the hard working owner. He's by himself doing EVERYTHING so please please be patient with him. I watched him for the entire 30+ waiting time and he goes just as fast as a young adult working behind that counter. He apologizes profusely on wait times & can see it overwhelms him. Please try to tip even though he rejects it!
