Tawakal Halal Tandoori is such a solid spot for authentic Pakistani comfort food in LA! Everything had that homemade, traditional desi flavor, especially the tandoori meats and curries. The meats were flavorful and well-seasoned, and you can’t go wrong pairing everything with fresh naan and rice. Definitely a great no-frills halal spot when you’re craving classic Pakistani food that tastes like home.
We got Chicken Biryani & beef nihari, with garlic naan and a mango lassi. The naan was incredible--it was toasty and thick, great texture and flavor. The beef nahiri was the perfect spiciness. The meat was super tender and flavorful. Mixing bites of the nahiri gravy into the biryani was incredible.
The owner and workers were kind. Decorations and atmosphere were nice. We'll definitely be back.
