“This is our family 'go to' for delicious Indian food served in a small, popular restaurant. If anyone comes to visit LA this is where we take them. The food is to die for, the perfect balance of flavors and portion size. The menu is large enough there is something for everyone be they veggie, lamb, chicken, or just like rice and naan (like our kid). They take their time making the meals and it really shows. Probably underpriced for the quality of the experience. Lots of street and metered parking. Bottom line? Masala House is where you want to go for Indian.Kid-friendliness: Have excellent fruit drink options for kids, very family friendly place, always feel welcomed.“

“A rating for health inspection, which is hard to get when you have a buffet. This is a little out of the way, but I am WOWed.I saw the sign for 11.99 buffet with 30 items to choose from. So, I obviously thought, probably garbage, but for the price, I'll try it.I walked in and was immediately greeted by the host. He seated me right away, brought me water, and kept it flowing.Key things I loved right off the bat. Naan and Garlic Naan are served as part of the meal. Chai is also served as part of the meal.At most places they will give you water, but no other options unless the price has gone up for a weekend style buffet. Also most places will give you Naan but if you want garlic it costs extra. So, we were already off to a better than 2 star rating. Now the buffet spread. Everything was clearly labeled. One other thing I liked is they kept the vegetarian dishes on one side and the meat dishes on the other, as to not mingle the foods by accident. My friend had a hay day about that one time we went to go eat.I tried a little of everything.I have to say the only thong I wasn't super impressed by was the chicken curry rice option. The flavor was a little on the bland side and it was a bit oily.Otherwise everything was fantastic.Top Dishes:The Eggplant and the Chiken Tiki MasalaActually I'll say the Chicken Tiki was fantastic. Most places use mostly milk, yogurt, water, with spices and a little sugar to make this happen and you can tell its liquidy instead of thick and rich. This was yogurt all the way with a hint of milk to make it slightly less thick. The seasoning on the chicken with the rich creamy sauce come into your mouth and sets off those feel good neurons which make you say, "More please!".There are 4 types of dessert and don't miss the orange carrot puree one lingering in the back, because it is quite good.I'd expect a buffet like this to be around $16.99 or higher. Exceptional quality and service. If the map says 3 miles away... drive the 3 miles!“

“My family and I came for lunch today to celebrate my dad's birthday. The staff was warm and courteous. The owner even came to our table. The food was delicious and not over spiced or greasy. We all ate from the vegetarian buffet, with unlimited visits. Lassie on tap. The ambience was bright and very pleasant. I love the green decor, you felt like you were eating healthy food. All of the items in the buffet were in copper pots. Very cool! The menu was pretty diverse and they were a lot of things that I will go back to order. Huge parking lot in the front.“

“We checked out this spot for the first time, and it was awesome! Their North Indian Punjabi food is amazing, and their prices are reasonable. We opted for a combo with three veg options, and let me tell you, each curry was bursting with flavor. It's got that spicy kick, but it's incredibly tasty. This place might not be fancy, but they've got everything from street food to Indian sweets and combo specials. Plus, they serve up some homemade Indian snacks too. We're definitely going back for more. If you're a fan of North Indian cuisine, this spot is a must-try!“

“I love this place as it serves vegetarian food and when you order, they make it fresh and it is served to you piping hot, just like Indian food should be served. My favorite is the Aloo Paratha, Daal Makhani, the Pindi Chana. My wife loves the exotic Makke Ki roti and sarson ka saag, Corn Roti, and Mustard Gravy although I am not a big fan of that. The ambiance could be better especially when you want to take guests and visitors to eat, and so one star minus for that. They give out free hot Indian tea which could be heavy on te sugar but on cold days it is wonderful. We usually order food and take away and the quantity is so generous that it lasts at least three means. totally worth the money and a must visit if you are in Canoga Park“

“Absolutely love this place! The customer service is amazing, they are so sweet especially our waitress Mish. The food is wonderful, fresh, and the environment is immaculate! I’ve tried multiple Indian buffets and this is by far my favorite! Definitely give this place a try.“
“I've traveled throughout India and have to say, they serve very Authentic Southern Indian food here and what I'd call the best dosa and idli I've ever tried in LA! I recommend their thali plate lunch special (the idea behind a thali is to offer all the 6 different flavours of sweet, salt, bitter, sour, astringent and spicy on one single plate-wiki), tofu 65, and their dosa and idli (the probiotics within are great for calming an upset stomach!). In addition, the service is personable and genuine! IG: kay_okay_eat“

“Food is authentic, ice creams were excellent, service was great, super friendly, and clean and accommodated our bday request. Thank you.The only point taking off is decor, doesn't need fancy decor, but it's not Indian nor up to date feel so a bit bland for a dinner place.“

“Hands down my favorite Indian restaurant anywhere in US. The only other Indian restaurants in my personal experience that compare are in UK. London and Birmingham. Again based on my personal experience. Super friendly staff. And food is fantastic. Always consistent. Excellent food and service. To go or dine in. To go orders are very well packaged. They are very friendly and generous. I used to go to another place next door. But since I discovered this exact Anarbargh I don’t go anywhere else to get my Indian food fix. Everything and anything I ordered has always been spot on. Usually go to’s arechicken tikka masala, shrimp tikka masala, shrimp tandoori, fish tandoori, sag paneer, paneer tandoori, shrimp biryani and few other things. I always different stuff too. And never had anything I didn’t love!“

“I've been going for years. Food is consistently good, and I love being able to point and pick dishes based on how they "look" vs a name. Many vegetarian and vegan choices that change daily. They have also dosas and bhatura bread freshly made. The service is "eh?" Most of the guys are not too friendly and perhaps it's a "we pretend to work and they pretend to pay us" scenario, I don't know. The older guy will at least offer a smile. The place is pretty dumpy and hasn't been redone in many years but that doesn't bother me. The food doesn't seem all that hot either? At the hospital there's a guy with a thermometer checking the temps of the trays in the cafeteria, but not so much here.Still, if that doesn't bother you, there's a world of reasonably-priced delicious Indian veg food here that you should really try.“

“This restaurant is so good and the staff is so kind. I always get the Saag Paneer and something else random from the menu and have never been disappointed. The chai is nice and spicy and you can get it with or without sugar. The garlic naan is perfectly chewy and fresh. Will be coming here for years!“

“The food was absolutely great, the chicken tikka masala was very good, and the butter chicken was just amazing. The other side dishes like the garlic naan, and garbanzo beans were also very tasty. Highly recommend eating here, and ordering the butter chicken with garlic naan. 5 stars!“

“Loved the food here! I normally don't like Indian food (mainly curry) but these dishes made me change my mind. The rice and chicken combo were delicious especially when mixing them together. The garlic naan bread was also made fresh and came with 4 large pieces. These dishes are definitely shareable. The service was great. The server was not that talkative but came to check on us a few times. It's also decorated nicely and gave me an Indian vibe. Will be back!“

“A true gem in the valley. Chef Wongie makes the absolute best comfort food this side of the city. The decor is quirky and personal to the owner and it reminds you that the best food comes from small businesses like this one that are getting harder and harder to find. Definitely give it a try.“

“Best Indian food (especially their vegetarian menu) in Los Angeles. Their flavors are so rich and unlike any of the dime a dozen Indian restaurants in LA. This may be due to their North Indian recipes that differ from the common South Indian flavors that are in most restaurants. Their food is simply incomparable and I’ve grown up eating Indian food from all the local hot spots. If you’re unsure of where to go- you MUST try this place.Vegetarian options: Vegetable Korma is a must!“

“I have eaten here and taken out many many times. The food is fresh and the flavors are indescribable. Every time I take friends there they rave and they go back themselves.I took my kids and grandkids (ages 2-7) sevearl months ago and today they called and the KIDS asked my daughter if they could get the " Indian food" and bring it to grandpa's .Thanks Shalimar, Dr.Harris“
“Great service. When you come in, you instantly get greeted and seated and asked if you are ordering or there for the lunch buffet. We always go for the buffet, then you are asked about your preference for Naan. You are free to go about getting your own plate and packing it at your own desire. you can always get another plate to get more food, and don't worry, they refill the food quite frequently and quickly when any of it goes low. The food is great. Everything tastes fresh. The goat is amazing; it is well cooked and does not have game smell to it. One thing I would wish for, is some Sagg without the Paneer. Just straight Sagg would be nice, for those with Lactose problems :) but it is nice that there is a decent variety for those with Lactose problems. Definitely come and try their lunch buffet, it will get you addicted! Come once, and come back always again!“

“One of the authentic South Indian food in the valley that serves meat dishes. Their chicken tikka masala and egg curries were delicious. They are typically on the spicy side. If you like spicier food, this is the place. Their dum biryani and different types of naan's were flavorful. On the flip side, their service is awful. Typical of an Indian restaurant. You must keep getting the waiter's attention even when they are not Busy. You have to ask for water, utensils, etc. I prefer to pick up rather than eat there. Most people order for pickup.“

“I've decided to give the Village Tandoor a five out of five review for the following reasons * Food Quality: I have eaten at this restaurant three times, twice in the afternoon and once in the evening; all my orders have been pick up orders, except for one. The food is well seasoned with good serving portions, and hot. The taste is very good and it is obvious that they are using quality ingredients. * Ambience: the restaurant is decorated with little statues, and paintings which make one feel like they are in India perhaps. The tables and seats seats are in good condition and comfortable. * Restaurant cleanliness and staff hygiene: the restaurant always appears to have the tables wiped down and there is no visable dust, the people serving the food have clean hands and fingernails as well as their hair up. My overall conclusion of this establishment is that is a very good place with good food and decent prices. I will continue to come here!“

“I love this place. I always get vegan biriyani from here but they are sold out if you come too late. I've ordered them on DoorDash and sat and ate food with my bf at the restaurant. We both loved it. I had the paneer biriyani, he had the veg biriyani and we shared the gobi Manchurian and loved all of it.“
