I used to love Joe’s, and I’m so disappointed with how poor the quality, service, and price has become. The pizza is often cold, with half the toppings fallen off by the time it gets from the tray to the oven to warm, but the biggest concern is how they handle price.
I ordered 4 slices of pizza and it came out to almost $30. This seemed off, so when I looked at the menu, I noticed that they had charged me more for every slice without telling me. For example, if the cheese slice was almost $5 (already ridiculous), I saw on the POS that they added a $0.25 up charge. I looked at the menu directly in front of the register, and it showed the lower prices. I asked why they charged me more, and the girl just shrugged her shoulders without explanation. The caprese by the slice was almost $7 after tax! $7 for a mediocre slice of pizza is robbery.
They didn’t even offer to fix the price, even with the lower prices on the menu directly in front of them. Horrible service. I decided not to complete the order and left. I used to come here often. Now I’ll never be back.

I strolled in here after a not so great dental appointment at the same Plaza. Hungry as hell I went for a slice of the Sicilian with pepperoni. Soft and doughy with a good crunch to it. Delicious. Loved the mozzarella as well. The staff were friendly and really helpful. I soon forgot about the unfriendly dentist. It was also refreshing to find a spot that doesn't look like it's designed like a mobile app.

I got a vegan pizza last week and a vegan pizza yesterday. The pizza I got yesterday tasted entirely different than last week… and I am 99.9% sure it was regular cheese and not vegan cheese. It tasted distinctly different from the first bite. Even my meat eater boyfriend thought it tasted too good to be vegan.
The pizza I got yesterday also looks exactly like the regular cheese pizza. The pizza on the right, top corner was the pizza I received yesterday. All the photos are of Joe’s pizza and it clearly looks more like the regular cheese than the vegan cheese.
Pick-up was for 6:15pm and it was not ready until 6:30pm. I tried to eat a few bites but got a stomach ache and had no appetite even today / the day after.
We live right off of Sunset and have ordered from jere a few times, so we feel pretty upset about a spot we liked being inconsistent.

Great pizza at this location most of the time.& Beverly Hills location is typically really good.....DTLA & Sherman oaks locations need to be retrained on how to make a pizza.
Love love love Joe’s pizza! Authentic New York style pizza in LA. Been coming here for years and being half Sicilian I think I’m a good judge of pizza lol. Joe himself is a great guy. He gives this big city a small neighborhood feel the way he treats everyone like they’re somebody. As far as the negative reviews about customer service, I had a few bad experiences here with new hires not the ppl who have been working here. The new hires have been consistently rude. But hey don’t blame Joe for that, good help is hard to find. If you had a bad or rude experience , don’t let that stop you from getting some great pizza here. Plus like I said , Joe’s a good guy , support one of the good ones. Give him some feed back he’ll listen. Nobody wants rude ppl working for them ?
