This place does not exactly hire the best and the brightest in my opinion! Please go and find out for yourself…Occasionally they hire a good manager, those moments are short lived. Most look like they live in their mothers basement and have seen every Star Wars franchise; movie, episode, and cartoon.Roll the dice, there’s a 15% percent chance your meals come out hot at the same time and correct.True story, one time we watched our food placed under the light and sit when we asked our waitress to go get said food from under the heat light and she informed us it was not our food, 5 minutes later she picked up that same food and delivered it to us. Same day my wife (girlfriend at the time) walked over and refilled our sodas because no one cared….

It would be a 4 star review if it wasn’t for the Avocado Toast. This was the star of the show and made a huge difference. The place is spacious, parking is free and the food was good — only the avocado toast was exceptional.Service table was really good, but desk person during payment was a bit rude.

Another classic example of Googie style diners (like Johnie's and Norms), this Mel's location originally opened as Ben & Frank's in 1962 and had an A list rock star clientele. Of course today it is one of the best and last examples of authentic mid-century diner experience, with a perfect menu and lots of homage to George Lucas and American Graffiti. A true classic helping to keep vintage Sunset Strip alive and well.

Inattentive staff and mid tier food. The building itself had a cool vibe, but I would still not recommend.
