Great Food, Disappointing Service — A Missed Opportunity
Saltie Girl has a well-earned reputation for exceptional food, and in that regard, it delivered. Every dish that came out of the kitchen was flavorful and beautifully presented — the oysters, in particular, were a standout.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the service.
After ordering a bottle of wine, it took over 20 minutes for our server to return, only to inform us that the manager would be retrieving the wine. Another 10 minutes passed before she reappeared — not with the wine we ordered, but with a different, more expensive bottle. Rather than apologizing for the mix-up or offering it at the original price as a courtesy, the switch was presented matter-of-factly. A gesture of goodwill here would have gone a long way.
To make matters worse, our oyster order was mishandled — not once, but twice — with incorrect counts and missing varieties. For a restaurant that charges premium prices, these details matter. Guests expect not only excellent food, but also attentive, polished service to match.
In the end, the meal was delicious, but the experience left a bitter aftertaste. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and invests in training their staff. As much as I enjoyed the food, I won’t be returning until the service rises to the level of the kitchen. Dining here should feel seamless — not like a constant series of corrections.
Enjoyed our meal. We will be back
Popped in for a quick bite. Great fish sandwich and fries.
One of my favorite spots in LA! Love the food here! Great food and drinks! Bartenders are the best! So friendly! I vote to bring back the escargot
I visited this restaurant today and had mixed feelings about my experience. Although there were very few people, the food took a surprisingly long time to arrive. The overall vibe of the place didn’t appeal to me, making the wait feel even longer. The food itself was just okay — nothing memorable. I was hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately, it fell short.
Liked the vibe and the service
But.. our $42 lobster roll was chewy! And our dessert wasn’t amazing either. Left disappointed in the big bill and the sub par food. Cocktails were however great! Especially the matcha!
Fresh amazing oysters, great selection of East & West coast! Lobster roll is a must try and the burger is flavorful and juicy! Obviously everything pairs well with a nice glass of red or white wine, or a gin martini with a twist 😉
We sat on the patio. Every 5 mins a motorcycle cop was giving tickets on the corner. It was a lovely sunny day so outside of course was the choice. I would not do that again.
The oysters were excellent & fresh. The hamachi was overpowered by the sauce for me but my friend loved it. The lump crab toast sadly lacked crab. It was more a burrata toast. The scallop crudo was nicely & simply seasoned. We shared the dover sole. Please ask the price before ordering. We forgot that part and our delicious fish was $85. Shocking i know! Oh yes, the persian cicumber side was very tasty. For dessert I enjoyed the inner part of the pistachio tiramisù & my friend preferred the outer. We got lucky!
My orange cocktail was very nice as well as my blood orange mocktail. My friends pineapple cocktail was very good. It was gone in a few sips. She also like the wine menu.
Service was interesting. We started with one person and then another person took over and by the end of our meal the 1st person came back to us. 🤷🏼♀️
The place is very cute and I would recommend a try.
Love the food here
It’s not Cafe Med.

Effortlessly cool and absolutely delicious. Saltie Girl nails it on every front — the menu is inventive, the flavors are bold but balanced, and the energy in the room is spot on. From the crudos to the lobster rolls, every dish lands. Add to that a sharp, friendly service and you’ve got one of LA’s most satisfying seafood spots.
Visited Salty Girl in LA for my birthday (brunch time). The food was good, but the original server was unfriendly and unhelpful—no birthday acknowledgment despite it being in the reservation. He reminded us our dog couldn’t be on our lap and offered no food suggestions. Thankfully, a friendlier server stepped in later, but the experience fell short of expectations.
We loved this place. So many interesting choices. The crispy branzino, delicious. The moules frites, excellent. Salads, huge and delicious. And the pistachio tiramisu, heaven.
Service was super lovely.
Ok, I really really enjoyed this. The scallop crudo was exceptional. A rare find.
Finally got to enjoy the caviar martini and it did not disappoint. Came with a fairly hefty $45 price tag but luckily it was a treat from my client. I would definitely have it again and hope to dine there properly one day. Nice atmosphere not too loud and the staff were very welcoming.
