I've never had lamb chops before and I was blown away 10/10. I had a lamb chop combo with green beans & yams. It was worth every penny. I ordered online and did have to wait over an hour after the food was supposed to be ready (according to the website). I'm pretty patient and would've appreciated them letting me know there would be a long wait after I came in. Instead, they said 15min and I waited for over an hour. Someone did apologize, so I'll give them grace.

I was really excited to try this restaurant, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing from start to finish. The restaurant is located inside a meat/liquor store, which wasn’t ideal, but I still wanted to give it a fair chance.

We waited about 10–20 minutes just to place our order. We ordered two turkey chop plates with rice one smothered and one fried along with mac and cheese, greens, cabbage, and two desserts: lemon pound cake and honey bun cake. We were told the wait would be 30 minutes, but we ended up waiting over an hour and 20 minutes. After checking inside around the 45-minute mark, we realized our order hadn’t even been started yet.

Sadly, the food was not worth the long wait at all. The turkey chops were mostly fat and bones, the gravy had an unpleasant aftertaste, and the sides were mixed up between our plates. The desserts were also incorrect we ordered lemon pound cake but were given buttercream pound cake instead. When we politely asked about it, we were told it was the correct cake even though it clearly wasn’t.

Overall, the food quality and service were extremely disappointing, and we ended up throwing most of the food away after only a few bites. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

I saw this place from an Instagram post. I really wanted to try the soul roll and it didn't disappoint. It was absolutely phenomenal. It was basically turkey, greens, Mac and cheese, yams, red beans and rice rolled in an egg roll wrapper and fried with yam juice as the dipping sauce. OMG! I traveled from Washington to try this since I was visiting my sister in LA.

I wanted to try as much as I could so we ordered smothered turkey chops, fried red snapper, cajun blackened salmon, cabbage, greens, mashed potatoes with gravy, macaroni and cheese, red beans and rice and green beans. It also came with cornbread muffins.

Saying the food was good was an understatement. I can't wait to go back. I need another soul roll.

Called ahead to place a big mashed potato order - normally a 2-3 day notice situation. They were kind enough to make an exception, kept me in the loop on the wait, and came through.

The mashed potatoes were outstanding - the flavor was so good you don't even need gravy. The staff truly went above and beyond.

Highly recommend and I'll definitely be back!

Excellent service and top notch soul food. Some of the best I’ve had since being in Cali. Nice grocery store option too with the glass water bottles!
