It's fast food, but it's "old style" fast food, which by today's standards would totally be categorized as "gourmet" fast food. Portillo's has several locations across the US, though most are in the US. There are two in California, and one happens to be in Orange Co., more precisely in Buena Park, within the Downtown Buena Park area (i.e. across the Buena Park Mall, right where Walmart is.The building and the interior match the historical restaurant in Chi-town. A very attractive mix of 1940's and 1950's Americana. There's a large dining room and a very spacious outdoor patio.Portillo's iconic dish is the Italian Beef Sandwich. You can have it dry, with some gravy with a lot of gravy or gravy on a side (I strongly recommend the latter: you decide how much you want...) Also, you can have the "hybrid" sandwich with Italian and Polish sandwich. Or you can have the beef in a croissant with cheddar cheese, something that vaguely resembles a Philly Cheesesteak. Of course the fundamental difference is that the ribeye steak on a Philly Cheesesteak is grilled, while Portillo's famous beef (it's still ribeye steak) is actually slow-cooked (4-5 hours, I was told). And that makes the meat a lot more tender than that of any ribeye steak cooked with any other method. Portillo's Italian Beef is extraordinary. Incidentally, it's also available in a bowl, for those who are trying to cut on carbs.Portillo's also serves a variety of other classic dishes: hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, sausages etc. It's all good, but really, in my opinion, the Italian Beef and the sausages steal the show. Fries and onion rings are very good, comparable with what gourmet burger restaurants offer. The difference is that Portillo's has prices more in line with regular fast food chains, but the quality of the food is clearly higher. In other words, great value!A good selection of desserts, shakes and malts are also available. All good, but by far my favorite is the strawberry/lemon shake. Very delicious and quite unconventional. It is a take out place but there are a few chairs inside to wait for your order. Simple menu only dogs cook a few different ways. Not many drinks to chose from. Finally, I got a Fruit Punch Slush for my drink. The food was cooked to order and tasted good. For my own taste, as much as I love cheese, probably would just get all sausage next time. “Do not sleep on this place. Corn dog Castle is so yummy. Even at $10-$12 per corn dog I have to say it is totally worth it. These are not puny corn dogs. They're pretty big in size. I personally have never had the cheese one but I have had the regular corn dog here several times and my absolute favorite is the hot link corn dog. If you can handle a little spice then I highly suggest just getting the hot link corn dog. You get a choice of Mandarin orange or a small bag of chips with each order. The drinks here a little pricey so if you have your own drink then definitely skip out on that. I ordered four corn dogs and one souvenir cup which was $12 and my order total ended up being about $59. Which means that 47 of that was just four corn dogs. Again I understand that that sounds pricey for corn dogs but you are at a theme park so of course everything is more expensive. But I think for that price point I would rather eat these fresh and hot corn dogs then an old chicken tender and limp fries lol“

“I came here with my uncle to try the Korean hotdogs and we both loved them. The hotdogs were juicy and for me, the sweet potato with sugar went so well with the savory sausage. I really enjoyed the cheesy mustard (reminded me of chik fila sauce) on the dog as well. Knowing a Chicago dog was a must, I also ordered an Italian beef to make sure I didn't leave hungry.Char-broiled Chicago dog-Made with a Vienna Beef dog inside a poppy seed bun, topped with pickle, tomatoes, onions, hot sport peppers, mustard, celery salt & neon green relish. Good dog! Never been to Chicago, but I believe Mustard's Chicago dog is a good facsimile, thereof.Italian beef-The highlight for me, especially with the giardiniera (ask for it). “This place is really delicious. Only problem is, typical lines at Disneyland. It took like 25 minutes to get three items. They definitely need more help. Orders thru the app were totally backing up the place. If you are starving, you better bring some snacks to hold you over until you get your food. Once you get it, it is incredible. There was a very nice young lady with a chef jacket on trying to direct people traffic out front and help with any questions and trying to rush the orders. She was very nice and helpful. “I've admittedly never paid attention to Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs in the past but, once I heard about the pickle corn dog, I knew I had to try it! This is an outdoor food stand located in the middle of Downtown Disney amongst other shops and eateries. Have this in mind because this means adhering to the Downtown Disney parking regulations. You may need to pay for parking if you plan to stay in the Disney vicinity for more than an hour. During busy hours, the turnaround time can be long. For my pickle dog and my husband's Mexican street corn dog, we had to wait a good 10-15 minutes to get our food due to the amount of people ordering before us. We paid about $30 dollars for both corn dogs which seemed pretty steep. You definitely pay that Disney tax here. The pickle corn dog was all I wanted and more! The pickle itself is huge and quality of the dog is great. It comes with a side of peanut butter which I thought would come in a sauce form. Nope! It's a side portion of straight peanut butter. However, pickles and peanut butter are an odd but amazing pair, so it ends up being the perfect compliment. The Mexican street corn dog seemed mediocre in comparison and small portion for the $15 that we paid. We will not be ordering it again. Even though the corn dogs come with a side of classic Lays chips, we couldn't justify the steep price. The pickle dog is definitely more worth it!“

This taco truck is located on a street with a lot of other vendors, including multiple other taco trucks and churro and crepe trucks/stands. It wasn't too busy when we arrived at 11pm on a Friday night.My friends and I ordered primarily al pastor and carne asada tacos. The cashier couldn't speak any English, which we took as a good sign. Tacos were $3 each. It took about 15 minutes for all our tacos to come out (12 in total), but I saw they were making everything fresh and to order in the truck.When we got our tacos, they were so fresh and hot it was a bit hard to hold initially. The meat was flavorful and tender, and guac was included on top. Salsa could be found in the ice among the drinks, which almost all of them are pretty spicy. These were solid tacos and at a good large size.The only negative I have is that the salsa they put on each taco is pretty spicy and overwhelming. I usually handle spice pretty well, but in this case it was a bit too much of a kick that built up over time. I basically took off about half the salsa that was on my tacos and that was the perfect balance of heat and flavor.Overall, I would rate this place about 3.75 stars, mainly because the area is convenient to reach and this is one of the better options. This would be a place to come to if my friends and I didn't want to drive out to LA or to North OC for tacos. The portions and meat were good, but the salsa took a bit away for me.“
