We stumbled on this restaurant bc I saw on the picture of the menu 100% không bột ngọt - 100% no MSG. My husband has a severe MSG allergy and is a litmus test for restaurants using MSG. He had the chicken banh canh and to his surprise, he did not get a stomach ache and bloating 30 minutes later. My đặc biệt bánh canh was delicious too.

Food is good but the establishment is outdated. The service is ok but the waitress seemed a bit depressed. None of the high chairs worked.

Looking for Vietnamese udon, banh canh, come to this restaurant. The whole 2 pages of menu us all banh canh. If you don't like banh canh udon noodles, get their mien vermicelli instead. I did. Both are good.

Didn't remember how many times we have been to this place. Each time they ordered a different bowl of Udon from their specialty in different regions in Vietnam. This time I went to a Naha Trang special Udon. It has shrimp, fish patties and also crab meat. This was very thick and freshly made Udon, and it was surprisingly delicious and perfectly made. I was very enjoying the authentic of this place. This thick broth was so good, adding to the chili's in , it turned into a very enjoyable combination of flavors. I usually eat with either Chinese donut or fresh breads, it was best my opinion, just try it you are probably like it too, so on appetite.

Sub par bánh canh. I ordered two orders to bring back to the hotel and neither of them comes with green onion and cilantro, which is a let down. I asked for two thick soup and got one thick and one thin. Hole in the wall establishment so I figure I try them out. But this is a total let down. Won't be back anytime soon.

I was craving for Vietnamese Banh Canh udon and came here because of some great reviews.I ordered takeout Banh Canh Mien Trung and Banh Canh Hue.It was horrific. The broth was salty and heavy funky rotten fishy smell. I can't go on eating with this weeks old rotten fish bath water. What a waste of money and time.I came in on a weekday afternoon. There was 2 tables with people and me picking up my order. I don't know what was the kitchen situation that day, but enough for me to never set foot in here again.

Here's a little Vietnamese mom&pop shop specializing in banh canh - thick tapioca noodles swimming in seafood broth! They offer both thin and thick broths - Highly recommend the thick broth! It's like they turned the ocean into a seafood gravy. The noodles are pleasantly bouncy and taste fresh. Be careful though - Everything is scalding hot. So take your time and eat slowly to savor each slurp and bite. They gave a generous portion of pork slices, pork hock, quail eggs, and pork blood. Don't let their outdated decor deter you - trying their specialty is worthwhile!

My FAVORITE place for banh canh!!!! I've had banh canh at several different places, this is by far the best one imo (other than homemade of course). I never knew there were so many different kinds until I came here lolI forgot the name of the one I ordered, but I think it was #27 and my boyfriend got the dac biết; both with the THICK soup! I loved how chewy the bouncy the noodles where. It didn't have that prepackaged taste, does that make sense? It also came with a Chinese donut. Not sure why this place had bad reviews. I enjoyed my food. I never expect good service from an old Asian restaurant like it would be cool tho lol

Can't go to Hue for bánh canh? Best place to go for something close to what you can get in the country would be here! Banh canh Hue with shrimp and crab is a favorite. Shrimp is well made, fresh noodles, and broth tastes delicious. You can get thickened broth or regular. Udon noodles or substitute with glass noodles. Add in some quail eggs, yum! Their passion fruit and pennywort drink are super delicious too. Lan, waitress, is super friendly and nice and always hooks it up with amazing service and recommendations and takes care of me and the family. Nice ambiance with a Vietnamese vibes and music playing. Highly recommend!

To preface, this is the first time I have had banh canh and I'm in love! I never knew such a delicious Vietnamese noodle soup existed --all I've been having is pho, bun bo hue, and bun rieu, which are also just as delicious too. But I'm happy to discover this new dish at this spot that does it so well. My best friend who knows this dish well even agreed that this place makes it even better than a homemade one! It's located in a plaza and a bit run down. Once we were seated, we got our menus. Both of us ordered 1A - Banh Canh Dac Biet ($15.95). Usually when in doubt at a Viet spot, get the dac biet, which is their house specialty and comes with everything. This one included jumbo prawn, crab meat, fried squid paste, fried fish paste, shrimp hall, and deboned pork. When the dish arrived, it was piping hot! Be careful at first, but I love my soups burning hot in temperature. The default is to get the thick broth with udon noodles, which is the only way to go. I loved everything from the chewy noodles to the savory seafood broth. I was most impressed by how tender the deboned pork was --surprisingly my favorite part! The broth itself is like a hot and sour soup but without the kick. Of course you can add in the chilis they provide to make it more spicy too. I was so full, but couldn't help finishing every last drop of this soup. I am still dreaming about the next time I come back here. Also, definitely get the Chinese donuts with your soup to dip it.

Not how it used to be. Service was prompt, restaurant itself still looks like it did years ago. Tables are kind of grimey, but no big deal. Food overall was ok. I ordered the special with the large freshwater prawn, crab meat, shrimp paste, fish paste, and deboned pork shank. Asked if I could substitute for a bone in shank and they said they could only add it for $2. I said sure. Toppings and soup were fine but the broth was kind of bland for my liking. I got the thick broth and texture was fine but flavor was a bit lack luster and smelled of very strong seafood odor (not good). I have had this dish plenty of times, but honestly was not impressed. I have to say they have a very large selection of Vietnamese udons, so maybe there is a different one that would taste better. The tapioca udon noodles were of great texture, it's just the broth that was ok.
