“This place was heaven-sent after finishing 3 days on the Lost Coast trail. It closes pretty early (3 pm) but we finished the trail early and made it here at 2:30 pm. I thought it would be in a town or something but it was in a…lumber yard? Open air Home Depot? We circled the grounds once before finding it. And even though the sign said open there was no one at the register. We hungrily waited for a few min contemplating our next move, but someone came back! She said they were out of ham and turkey but she was able to make substitutions for us. The sandwiches were seriously amazing. The bread was pillowy and hot, the fillings were so generous. It was absolutely on par with an SF sandwich shop and the most memorable post-backpacking meal to date!”
“Always great service. Big fan of the crust. Love me a veggie combo with sausage added. Don't forget the wings. My MIL loves the garden chicken pesto. and whattt? any pizza can be a calzone instead. My nephew never had a calzone. That will be on my next order. 10 thumbs up from this household.”
“So glad we asked a local & learned that this place is NOT closed! The bar is tiny, full of warmth, enhanced by a guitar playing quietly. We enjoyed chatting with the owner/bartender & locals. Definitely worth a stop!”
“Love this spot.. great beers, staff was super friendly, and a dog friendly beer garden / patio to top it off. We had the cauli bites, ceviche, fish and chips, and fish tacos. ?”
“We stayed at the lost coast inn, in shelter cove. The fish tank was a perfect spot to take a snack back for our journey back home. The woman that made our food was really sweet, she gave us an update with the road conditions and what we might expect going through the mountains. I believe it was a bob sandwich and man you were not disappointed! I was wishing my husband didn't want his so I could eat another one. My husband got a double shot of expresso and he seemed to really enjoy that as well. Thank you for being so sweet to us!”
“Decent little pizzeria, friendly service and the pizza and salad was pretty good. It was nice to be able to sit outside. Decor wasn't really memorable. I didn't notice anything French at all about the place but then maybe that's why it was lost Frenchman?”
“We are staying at a nearby Airbnb and stopped by on a Tuesday. How lucky we were that it was Taco Tuesday and Larry was making his best-we've-ever-had tacos. They were fabulous and we've been all over the world. The vibe, service, beer, tacos, and people, especially Larry, Seven, and Dee, were great and so kind. Thank you for making our week. God bless you'all”
“There isn't a better cup of coffee in the world than Black Thunder in a 3 minute French press. It covers my whole tongue with a satisfying texture I can only compare to chocolate; warm, creamy, with comforting oils and flavor. There are no unharmonious notes. Nothing bitter, none of those nasty acidic green bites. Modest caffeine levels refresh without teeth-grinding desperation. It fills me with satisfaction, and pride to know the people who make the wonderful, conscious cup of perfection.”
“Can't ask anymore of a small town liquor store.. the store always looks well organized and smells wonderfuly clean As for the staff ? faces and smiles stand out from over 35+ yrs. Then there's the staff there all cool but Miss Leeann. She's way Cool”
“This is our first time visiting Shelter Cove and we dined here on November 10th. It is a nice restaurant and we ordered the pabellon criollo for dinner and it was delicious. For the appetizer, we ordered the arepitas and it was delicious. Our server, Grace M., was courteous and the customer service was good. The next time that we come back to Shelter Cove, we will dine here again.”
