“Just traveling through Garberville and found your restaurant on TripAdvisor. Excellent food, excellent service, clean, very organized. The cook and the owner Chris never missed a beat. If we ever travel this way again, Woodrose Cafe will be our first stop. Thank you for an amazing fresh breakfast and amazing service. Rated 5++++”
“It's nice you get complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa given is a little sweet and not spicy. If you ask for the spicy salsa it won't disappoint on the heat. Quesobirria tacos were packed with meat and you get extra cilantro and onion on the side with the consomme. Messy but delicious. The Al Pastor in the crunchy taco had a nice flavor and they pack those tacos as well. The green enchiladas seemed a little small like a flauta. The vegetables and avocado were all fresh and they aren't shy with the cheese and sour cream. Our waitress was polite and attentive.”
“Found this place by chance during a cross-country road trip and oh what a find. Greeted right away by super friendly servers, this quaint little diner is perfect. The food looked and tasted great!”
“This is such a cute restaurant. The people who took my order were so sweet and very patient. The food was amazing. I had the Hang Ten Nachos and an ice tea. The atmosphere is just so ”
“Came here for the first time with my husband and a friend to see a great band play (Blü Egyptian, check them out!), and didn't really know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the inside is. Amazing murals everywhere and everything is clean and new-looking. The staff were pleasant, the crowd wasn't too rowdy. The drink prices felt high, but are actually probably on par for the area (everything in southern Humboldt county is more expensive than anywhere else in the state, from groceries to gasoline to literally everything else). I didn't have any food so I can't speak on that. Overall great experience, I feel silly for not stopping in sooner! I'll definitely be back!”
“Stopped in for a restroom break and to clean the car windows. Liz and Jon showed excellent customer service and the place was so clean and smelled amazing. Both of them are gems!”
“The atmosphere of this newly decorated restaurant is beyond what I had expected! Its classy and very modern! The food is really good and the staff are really friendly and very warm! The Spicy Pear margarita is THE BOMB!”
“This is my favorite place to eat in Garberville. The staff is super friendly and very patient with substitutions. They don't have outdoor seating which would be nice, but nice indoor options including bar seating. They have some vegan options, but my favorite burrito to make was a vegan super burrito with the guac, lettuce, and salsa inside, with fajita veggies instead of meat and no cheese. Their beans and rice are flavorful and the overall combo is delicious. A friend got their shrimp burrito and loved it. Would definitely recommend if you're in Garberville or driving by on 101! Always great to support a local, family owned business.”
“Where to start? The food. Fresh and so wonderfully seasoned. Great Local Wines. The service was the BEST! Friendly and courteous. Its a clean and cute restaurant. Best dinner out on our entire trip. A must visit destination if you are visiting Ave of the Giants. RV traveler. Corinne”
“Actually a really nice place to eat they take pride in their food You can tell everything on the pizza is fresh in house.. If you're out here in the middle of nowhere, then you want a good place to stop and get some food. That's actually reasonably priced come here.. Their burgers are even bought from a local farm. Everything is local and fresh. So yes, come eatget your glutton on.And bad place to have a beer.. Even if you're out there and it says it's 20 or 30 minutes away. It's worth the drive the food quality is worth it”
“Decent little pizzeria, friendly service and the pizza and salad was pretty good. It was nice to be able to sit outside. Decor wasn't really memorable. I didn't notice anything French at all about the place but then maybe that's why it was lost Frenchman?”
“Really good local grass fed beef burgers. We like just about everything on the menu. When you order a burger you get choice of homemade Mac or potato salad along with either fries or onion rings. She has good appetizers too. Kids menu. Fast & friendly. Thank you Chris & staff.”
“Visited the Avenue of the Giants on a week of HEAVY rain. But Sips had hot latte and chai. I especially liked the fresh almond croissants (only 2 left). So, before and after visiting the Visitor Center/Museum (A dry place), I had the perfect combinations to deal with the rain. Friendly service!”
“There isn't a better cup of coffee in the world than Black Thunder in a 3 minute French press. It covers my whole tongue with a satisfying texture I can only compare to chocolate; warm, creamy, with comforting oils and flavor. There are no unharmonious notes. Nothing bitter, none of those nasty acidic green bites. Modest caffeine levels refresh without teeth-grinding desperation. It fills me with satisfaction, and pride to know the people who make the wonderful, conscious cup of perfection.”
“We are staying at a nearby Airbnb and stopped by on a Tuesday. How lucky we were that it was Taco Tuesday and Larry was making his best-we've-ever-had tacos. They were fabulous and we've been all over the world. The vibe, service, beer, tacos, and people, especially Larry, Seven, and Dee, were great and so kind. Thank you for making our week. God bless you'all”
“Can't ask anymore of a small town liquor store.. the store always looks well organized and smells wonderfuly clean As for the staff ? faces and smiles stand out from over 35+ yrs. Then there's the staff there all cool but Miss Leeann. She's way Cool”
“Small little coffee spot. This coffee spot does have an outdoor eating/drinking area, and drive-through. No line what so ever and service was fast. The gentleman that helped us was extremely nice and helpful, with all your questions. I had the Valentine's Day special which was a chocolate (almost like a tuxedo/zebra) raspberry mocha (10-10) and asked for it to be extra sweet. I have to say the heart xoxo sticker on my cup was a plus for Valentine's Day. Or next order was a chai tea, extra sweet (8 out of 10). I'm excited to stop by again when I'm visiting this location. Second visit to this location. The very next day, cause my drink the day before was worth the 45 minute drive back from Fortuna. Drink's were not as good, however I will be visiting again. In all fairness I think the ladies working this day, forgot to add my extra sweetener to each cup. And unfortunately the drink menu from Valentine's Day had already changed.”
