Ordered food several times for delivery and they are almost always out of something. Tried to ordered 4 dishes today and 3 of them came back as out of stock. If they have the food available, the taste is good but their service is slow and can’t seem to keep ingredients in stock.

I ordered the goat Biryani an it was actually really good, it was spicy and left my mouth wanting more because of the spice and the tender goat, I will be going back and hope the rest of the food measures up to the first, this place was a pizza place In the past and had some good times there in the 80s but sadly those times are gone, hopefully the food is here measures up to the dish I had.

Some of these other reviews are honestly so silly to say the least. It's a new restaurant for Christ sake, of course they're still getting situated and need some more time to settle into their new unit... can't believe that flies over some people's heads who leave low reviews . Food has always been amazing and consistent each time I ordered.

The first time I was there was a 3 star experience with decent food and service. The second time, my order was canceled because they were out of what I wanted, so I had to order something different which was ok. The third time, they were out of what I wanted so cancelled the order, but I ordered different menu items which tasted just awful (chicken biriyani and palak paneer). Sad. I don't often post poor reviews, this is rare. Not sure what is going on with this place.

The place looks like a pizza place and really no banana leaf at all. Pictures are deceiving.

Horrible unhealthy food. Will never order again. Please stop using so much oil in the food, the oil oozes from the containers and all we could taste was the oil in the food.

Thank you for a pleasant experience. My fiancé and I are glad we came across this place. On the outside, it looks like it still sells pizza, beer, and wings. That is not the case. Instead, they have the tastiest south and North Indian selections. We got goat sukka, chicken tikka masala, mango lassi, and garlic naan. The food didn't take too long to arrive and when it did it was fresh like it was just made that day. It had a homemade taste to it and it as very comforting. There was a lot of meat in each dish. We look forward to visiting again.

Wonderful South Indian Food, all cooked to order, and friendly service. Banana Leaf is one of the only places to offer organic Chicken Tikka Masala and organic Chicken Dum Biryani in Los Angeles. They The expanded menu includes variations of the original biryani. The list includes Paneer (Cottage Cheese), Chicken 65 and Dindigul (Chennai Style). All meat is healthy halal and every dish cooked to order. We love the flash-fried Chicken Majestic and Tindora, stuffed eggplant. The appetizer category lists Hydrobadi boneless fish fry; Gobi 65, and Chicken Manchurian. The curry section features Lamb Tikka Masala, Mango Dal and Andhra Chicken Fry. The owner is so excited to share what he knows , even showing how dishes are made. Photos and descriptions are available on the website.

Great authentic Indian food.Flavorful. The meat was fresh and well cooked.Good service as well. The place seems to need renovation as it’s an old sports bar or something.Better to take out. There is ample space though to eat in.

Paid for food that I never got. Wasted 13 dollars on food just to be told they can’t give it to me because they’re sold out and won’t do a refund.

I spent a delightful afternoon with friends sampling dishes at the newest location of the growing south Indian restaurant chain, Banana Leaf. This, their sixth location, is located on Roscoe Boulevard in Winnetka California, in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. There is ample free parking in the shopping center lot. Here is a rundown of some of the wonderful, unusual dishes. Most of them were vegetarian, although the restaurant is not strictly vegetarian. An eggplant and tindora chutney started our meal. Tindora is a tiny gourd. The chutney included tamarind and spices sautéed and then ground together. Plantain badji was next served on a banana leaf placemat that was set down, and on it various dishes kept coming. Truly this was a feast. Tamarind Rice along with Chana Dal and peanuts, Chicken 65, which might be my favorite dish, a chicken spiced and fried with cashew nuts. Spicy Konaseema chicken curry, also fried but with curry leaf, cashew and onion was tamed with basmati white rice. Goat curry was fragrant and succulent. Roti Pachaddi was next, along with Punugulu - doughballs of dosa, fried with rice and lentil flour, cilantro, red onion, ginger, and yogurt. A Sambar of carrot, onion, potato, turmeric, Serrano chili, tomato, and mustard seed was served. Another course was an eggplant curry, served whole but cut like a flower split into four with the stem still intact, and a curry sauce with ground peanuts and spices inside it. An okra pakora was very tasty. Next a fillet of tilapia dish called Kerri Pulu Su, with a light curry sauce. For dessert, a halva made of semolina grain, saffron, cooked with sugar and pistachios set on a base of custard along with a ball of gulab jamun was a sweet delight and wonderful ending for a very special meal.
