The Rubi Slipper LLC Reviews
the food, the service, the ambience etc...everything was great..
We are visiting from out of town and had such a nice visit at the Rubi Slipper. The entire staff is super friendly. The hardest part was choosing what to get on their extensive menu and truthfully we ordered too much bc there were so many good options. The fried taco was so yummy and was a last min add when we saw them go to a nearby table. The relleno was crispy, cheesy heaven. The green chili is AMAZING! Truly some of the best I have had. Recent reviews highlight the large menu, with one customer choosing the dirty south burger and the California chicken club. The burger was prepared perfectly, with onion rings, bacon, coleslaw, and American cheese blending deliciously, and the burnt ends were juicy and thick, complementing the chuck blend. The California chicken club had a soft, fresh bun and tasty guacamole, though the chicken was a bit salty and stringy. Both meals came with excellent, hot, and crispy tater tots. For dessert, a shared caramel cheesecake was fluffy, light, and airy, though some felt it could have benefited from more caramel sauce. The staff, including the waitress Kendri, was hospitable and provided helpful feedback. The owner makes the cheesecakes fresh daily, adding to the quality.
Another visitor mentioned walking in for dinner with a few minutes' wait, noting the lively atmosphere with several TVs playing sports and various seating options. Their meal included the California chicken club, which had a soft, fresh bun, tasty guacamole, and perfectly cooked tater tots. Their partner’s dirty south burger with burnt ends, Mac bites, coleslaw, cheese, and bacon bits was described as one of the best burgers ever. They finished with a caramel cheesecake that was light, fluffy, and very tasty, though they wished for more caramel sauce. The staff, including the waitress and manager, were very friendly, and the owner makes the cheesecakes fresh daily.
Reviews also mention the restaurant being a bit loud due to the chef calling out orders, especially for those sitting nearby. The establishment is very clean, especially the grills. An appetizer of large, beer-battered mushrooms was shared and enjoyed, and the steak and shrimp tacos were tasty, served with mashed potatoes. One customer’s friend ordered a roast beef sandwich with green beans, which was described as delicious and reminiscent of homemade meals. Overall, the staff was very friendly, and although customers did not try the cheesecakes during their visit, the desserts are known for being fresh and enjoyable.
