nice shop
An AMAZING place to get married! Food is awesome, service is great, and Almont is such a wonderful spot, perfectly located on the bus line and along the creeks and rivers. It's beautiful. As a local DJ with Gunnison Valley Entertainment, I love every chance i can get to party it up at the Almont Resort!
I don’t know what happened to the huevos rancheros. It use to be so substantial and today I left hungry. It was basically a bean and egg quesadilla. No chorizo, no potatoes, no presentation. Everyone who didn’t order huevos looked like they had a hearty meal.
This place used to be amazing. They had a full fly shop. The bar/restaurant was lively and always full. You could talk and relate to the local seeming employees. But something has changed, I’m guessing new ownership.
Now it’s empty every time I’ve been there. The fly shop is gone. Many of the employees have the people and communication skills of a rock. You can’t converse, connect, or relate to these workers. What happened to the local feeling employees that represent the area? The current employees know nothing about the area and absolutely nothing about the lifestyle, and it is billboard obvious.
3 Rivers is the complete opposite of all of this and after 10 years with Almont we’ve switched over to them. Keep your labor savings and awkward customer service, I’m supporting 3 Rivers, and how they operate from here on.
Good food , but our server ( tall guy curly hair) charge for a double drink we didn’t ask for that, looks like he dont know the system, never clean one plate or offer anything else, poor service, give us our check ,with empty plates everywhere on the table 😪
Stopped at the almont for a spot of dinner after a day of hiking in the area. Food far better than we could have hoped for and truly hit the spot. The head chef, Robert, was beyond courteous and welcoming when we caught up with him later that evening. 10/10 recommend. Service was good.
Clean place, boring food.
We cannot say much about the room since we did not stay here but the restaurant was spectacular!!
We went on a Saturday and it was Prime Rib night - the food was amazing!
The prime rib is served until they run out so we went around 5:00pm.
My husband and I shared a meal and it was a lot of food so I am glad we did.
It was a 14Oz of prime rib with au jous, a loaded baked potato, side house salad (home made croutons), sauteed spinach and a dessert (we took cheese cake to go).
We were very impressed with the quality and flavor of the food.
Plus the ambience of the outdoor seating was gorgeous!
We even bought some homemade croutons to take home!
A absolutely great place to have Sunday brunch. See people, eat very good food, maybe a drink or two. This place seems to never disappoints. Especially now that Harold is back during the weekend. Truly worth the experience.

Great little place in the mountains with an amazing atmosphere and great service. I love the brunch burger, and the cinnamon roll is to die for.

Used to be great, now just a shame.
Food and drinks: The Almont used to be a 100% hit! It was once a fun, good-spirited community gathering place. Now under new ownership, I’ve given it 4 (read: FOUR) chances, and I am gravely disappointed. The bartenders and wait staff, who used to be local legends and know all guests by name, have been replaced with people who are more interested in hanging out in the kitchen socializing in other languages rather than being out front engaging with guests. Lousy food, measured drinks, rookie bartenders, just sad.

We went to have drinks, appetizers and watch football. Walked in, sat down at table. No one came to our table. We went and sat at bar. Had to ask someone if we could get a drink. The drink I ordered, bartender had to look at recipe. The whole place was so unorganized. We drank our drinks and left. My husband said it's was a freaking joke.

Came and stood around for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Finally someone came up and said it was gonna be a few minutes. There were probably about 10 or more tables with only one waiter with a lot of stressed out patrons waiting for food or service. We left. ,
