Well, sorry to be posting this. Steakhouse 316 used to be our favorite restaurant in Aspen. Been going there for years, have recommended it to countless newcomers to Aspen and always have a great dinner. It was for that reason that I booked it for this past Saturday night to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday and my son's 21st. We saved it for the "special dinner" of the trip. Somehow, the time of our reservation got mixed up. I had it down for 7:30, they had it for 6:30. Oops. It happens. Arrest me. When I arrived, the self important host barked at me "You're AN HOUR LATE!" I was surprised and showed him my calendar event which said 7:30. He (with another snotty host staring me down) condescendingly responded "Well maybe you're from a different state so it has the wrong time." I apologized and asked if there was still a table available. He looked at the screen and snidely said, "uhh in AN HOUR." It was at that point that I'd had enough of being so rudely disrespected, not to mention humiliated in front of my wife and kids on what was supposed to be a celebratory night. We left. The lovely coat attendant (who saw it all and looked like she was cringing) followed us out, attempting to diffuse things and said "Maybe you can try our sister restaurant Monarch Steakhouse?" (PS we have also eaten there many times along with their other restaurant the Wild Fig.) No thanks. Luckily there is Catch Steak now so don't need to return to Steakhouse 000. What a shame. I hope the owners read this. I'm a foodie that frequents great restaurants around the globe (and also an executive at a major Hollywood studio) and trust me, I've seen this movie before. You're the hot place... until you're not. The way you treat your customers matters. I'll be sharing this wherever I can.

This place is AWESOME! Definitely one of the best meals I've ever had at one of the nicest places I've ever been to. The service was outstanding, the most professional service I've personally ever had. Despite the fact that this place is very upscale it's also very inviting and comfortable. There were all kinds of characters in there, cowboys, snowboarders/skiers with hats on, people dressed up, etc. The food was absolutely MAGNIFICENT. I had the Prime New York Strip, it was perfectly medium-rare and had the absolute best crust and flavor. The decor is super cool and interesting. If you're in Aspen this is a MUST. Worth every penny.

We were in Aspen/Snowmass for a medical conference. Steak House No. 316 had great reviews so we decided to give them a try. So glad we did! We had excellent steaks and salads! And the lobster was so juicy and tender!

This could have been a delightful dinner, but our interaction with the front of house was awful. This place asks you for a $150 per head guarantee for cancellations or if your entire party is not there within 10 minutes of your reservation. So we showed up on time and waited...and waited...and waited. When we asked about the delay, we were told that the people at our table weren't ready to leave and nothing could be done. No apologies for the delay, and the guy was pretty gruff in his delivery. So we stood for 30 minutes before being seated and received no apology or anything to make it up to us. Rough start to the evening! Appetizers were tasty, and people watching was great! However, my steak was not the temperature I ordered - but by that time I was so hungry I just ate the overcooked steak. Lord knows the manager wouldn't have done anything about it! I did tell the server to tell the chef he had overcooked my steak, so hopefully the chef could do better for someone else. Take my advice and go elsewhere for a better experience!

Great bar! Fantastic place to go and grab a seat on your own or with a friend or date. Meet some fun people. It was a perfect start time the night!

We had a reservation that we weren't seated for until like 30 mins or so later, due to the people that were seated not wanting to get up. The Lady that checks the coats was friendly welcoming and allowed me to sit under the heat while we waited Kudos to her. The food I ordered well done steak they brought rare. The crab cakes were good. The hostess removed the steak from my order it tasted like I had literally not the cow the flavor was definitely off, the food was warm at best. I wouldn't return or recommend it's a go at your own risk type deal. Just wasn't for me.

We come to this restaurant every year when we are in Aspen. Love the steak, but the foie is to die for. Service is professional. Great wine list as well. Love it!

Excellent food and service. Best ribeye steak ever - had the "cap cut" special, which has all the decadent marbling, my favorite part. Also the scallops were excellent ( and still awesome the next day) as well as delicious bone marrow/steak tartare and crispy brussels sprouts . Service from Caitlin ( I think? Blonde and super friendly ) was impeccable and took care of us for our anniversary dinner. Will eat here again on our next winter trip.

I was served a T bone steak when I ordered a tomahawk steak. I paid for a tomahawk steak. Also served a side of racism. I do not recommend!!

The manager, Brent, is extremely rude. We are loyal customers and have come here 10+ times on trips to Aspen but will not be back. Our food was good but after spending over $500 it is sad to be treated so poorly. We couldn’t even finish eating our dessert as Brent told us it was time to leave (in a very condescending manner) due to people waiting for tables. His delivery was extremely rude and not a way to treat customers. We usually look forward to our Aspen visits and this ruined our evening.

So. I had an unfortunate experience here yesterday. I’ve been there twice before with good results. Hence three stars instead of one.Last night I sat at bar for dinner. Waiter/bartender took my order for pelegrino and I got wine list. After this I was totally ignored. I sat there and watched him dry glasses for minutes on end. Sort of gently waving. He was right in front of me but ignored me. Finally I said something. Got glass of wine. Finished it. Ready for food. Took forever to get his attention but he finally said one person before me. He would be right back. He was back but continued. After waiting on others. To just dry glasses in front of of me. This went on for over five min. I finally stood up and asked for tab. It was $39. I put down two twenties and left. Then I went back and just told the front door gentleman as I thought he should know. He was respectful and listened. I left. That was my experience

A steakhouse that doesn’t know the difference between a tomahawk steak and a T BONE!! Medium rare last time I checked is not BLUE RARE!! Much better steaks for the around the same price if that is what you want, I can give recommendations!!
