“Traveling across Colorado on Hwy 76, we thought we’d be limited to fast food chains for dinner. How happy we were to spot Spurtz Grill. Friendly service in a nice clean atmosphere. Great burger with the fixings and hot crispy fries, and fish and chips. We were able to enjoy cocktails, and hot tasty funnel cake fries to top it off. We’ll keep this restaurant in mind the next time we pass through (Thurs-Sunday)”

“If you’re ever traveling through sterling, this place is worth the stop. The staff is very welcoming and provides excellent customer service. The food is made fresh and very reasonably priced. They have a salad bar, great selection of sandwiches and delicious ice cream. A local favorite.”

“What a pleasant surprise! We are traveling on a ski trip and booked a hotel in Sterling on the way. We had to find dinner and ended up seeing the brewery while on the way to the place we’d selected and decided to stop a take a look and were impressed, so we ended up staying to eat. I cannot say enough about the friendly people, the beer, and the food. Truly some of the best I’ve had anywhere. We will make it a point to stop on our way through on future trips.”

“We really enjoyed our meal. There were simple items for the kids and flavorful authentic dishes for us.The chips and salsa were delicious, and it is a mild smoky salsa. They also served us a cheesy refried bean dip.An excellent place to stop for lunch or dinner.”

“I wanted ribs and glad I got there when I did. I got the last 1/4 rack. Along with the pulled pork, brisket and homemade slaw. It was exactly what wanted. Everything was delicious. Almost felt like I was back home in the South. The staff was definitely very polite and a joy to eat dinner there while I am away from home.Thank you guys for my wonderful dinner”

“Think Mexican Subway with a walk through line as you customize your order. The staff was friendly, place was not busy, and they have glass-bottled Coke! I don't care for the set up of their tables as they are very close together, and the bases of their tables are quite large. I had only a small order of chips and queso, and their queso is sooooo good. I think this is an often missed eatery, and it's worth the stop.”

“I love that the drinks come correctly made, I love that it doesn’t ever take me 20 minutes or more to get a drink. I love that the girls are so very friendly to you. The only thing I dislike is the new tipping system for cards. When they ask if you want to tip it makes you feel as if you should have to tip. They give some crazy amounts for tipping options as well like we’re at a restaurant. Tipping should be earned in my opinion, not asked for. I hope scooters takes that away.”

“I’m not sure why we built a Starbucks. We already had this place. Fantastic coffee. Way better than Starbucks and whatever that other place is. Get your coffee here instead. Drive thru, and door dash now.”

“Wow I am impressed. The egg soup thick with egg and tofu and lil celery. Hesitant but ordered twice pork. Lots meat all lean cuts! Fresh veggies! Spice level perfect. Amazing portions. Get the dinner with soup egg roll and crab wonton for about $15 and plenty left for my lunch tomorrow. The service was great. Very friendly staff. Hope to try the lunch buffet sometime. Wish this place was closer to Fort Collins”

“Awesome food, came in during one of the windiest days I’ve ever seen in search of some good escape and food. Though chilly, the employees were chipper and all smiles! The server, Izaiah, had some excellent customer service, and brought our food out in no time. Can’t wait to come again!”

“The old Hot Spot was just a few blocks away so we went there a lot. Always the ribs, fries, cheese curds, once in awhile the pulled pork nachos. Staff always does a fine job. Just went to the new Hot Spot last night. I decided to try the brisket grilled cheese. Disappointed that it wasn't on sourdough (the best bread for grilled cheese) and it really should be cheddar which compliments bbq meat much better than American, plus a breaded onion ring on there would be good. Wife stuck to tradition and ordered the ribs. They were good, but a smidgen dry which only happened once before in countless visits. Could've been that cow. The BIG disappointment was the fries?. They switched from the classic crispy krinkle fries (THE BEST!) to McDonald's fries. Go back to the correct fries and I'll put the 5th star back up there.”

“Sam&Louies lunch today. Quick service. Servers were attentive and friendly. Food was out in 10 minutes and they were relatively busy. Food was delicious!!! Lunch menu is from 11am to 3pm and portion was just right for me! Thanks guys!”

“I am from California so I am always on the hunt for authentic Mexican food. El Jacal Mexican Grill delivers on that! I love their enchiladas and if you order a margarita - be ready for a lush overflow of tequila goodness. We have ordered to go as well as eaten in the restaurant and I can't complain! Definitely a well-loved family business and this CA girl appreciates all the chips and salsa you have to offer :)”

“A lovely little diner in Sterling. Good, basic diner food in a very clean little restaurant. Open breakfast and lunch only. The best part of this place is the story of the owners. They have been in this location for 14 years. Carlos and Cecilia put 3 kids through college! Good food cooked and served by good people. Who wants more than that?”

“This store has been a Sterling staple since I was a kid. The couple that own it and their hired help are always kind and ready to help. I love the selection of supplements, teas, foods, and even healthy candy snacks. If they don’t have it, they’ll get it for you. They got me my favorite teas! “Nice, clean, Dairy Queen. Our burgers were well put together & hot. Service there is always great. FYI, lunchtime is packed. We go there often and have never been disappointed. Prices are a bit high, but that's everywhere anymore.Parking: Busy parking at lunchtime.”
