I had never had Somalian or East African food before. My friend is from Uganda and saw they had Chapati and Mandezi and made a beeline for this location.
The food was SO good and the owners were so nice and patient with me as I asked them what they recommended and how to speak some Somali. The chef even came out to talk to us after we asked questions about a particular spice in the rice (it was Cardamom).

Maandeeq East Africa Restaurant offers flavorful African food with big portions. Favorites include the fish, chicken tandoori with spaghetti, goat with rice, and beefsteak. The green sauce is a hit! The place appears to be going through interior renovations, but the kind servers and delicious halal food make up for it. Portions are generous, often coming on two plates, plus a bowl of lentil soup. It is a perfect spot for trying Somalian cuisine, with quality ranging from good to great. However, the quantity of food can change, and sometimes they run out of dishes, so calling ahead for availability is recommended. Don't miss out on this unique dining experience!
