Such a fun experience all the way around. Having to take the Snow cat from the bottom of the hill to the restaurant is for itself. The restaurant is set up like a nice cabin and very cozy. They have a small menu, but it is diverse. The food was fresh and tasting.Service was attentive and friendly. If you go in peak winter, it definitely feels very Christmas like.

My experience at Zack's Cabin was nothing short of phenomenal—5 stars all the way! The adventure begins before you even reach the restaurant—you have to ride in a sled pulled behind a large snow cat to get up to the top of the mountain where Zack's Cabin is perched. It’s an exhilarating journey that adds a thrilling twist to the evening, making it feel like a true alpine escape.
Once we arrived, the ambiance set the tone for an unforgettable night. The menu was a delightful adventure, and we indulged in some truly standout dishes: the pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, the beets were bursting with earthy flavor, the elk was a tender and unique treat, and the short rib was rich, succulent, and cooked to absolute perfection. Every bite was a testament to the skill and creativity in the kitchen.
What elevated the night even further was Shaun, our wine service waiter. His expertise and enthusiasm for pairing wines with our meal made every course shine. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring we had the best experience possible. Zack's Cabin is a gem in Avon, and with the thrilling snow cat sled ride, food this incredible, and service like Shaun’s, it’s a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back!
Let me know if you'd like any more tweaks!

Had to cancel a reservation, which i did 3 hours in advance because our 5 year old son came down with a fever, which i explained to them over phone. 5 minutes later they charged my card $200. $50 per person. What a terrible, disgusting place.

We had another excellent dinner at Zach’s Cabin with friends after a world-class day of skiing! The smoked Elk dish was superb when paired with a beautiful Pinot Noir. Our server Cathy was attentive, friendly and didn’t miss a beat!

The place is wonderful and spectacular at the mountain summit; it's worth visiting despite the noisy sleigh and the discomfort if it's snowing. However, the restaurant is very nice, but the service from the staff is terrible! The attention is very poor, and the food is not good at all. Extremely expensive for the so bad food. The meat was overcooked despite us ordering it medium rare, the salmon was dry, and the beet salad consisted of two tiny slices of beet with no dressing. The only good thing was the cheese fondue. So if you want to visit, it's better to ski by, have a coffee, and maybe a dessert, as the food was so bad that we didn't even want dessert.

Ride up in snowcat was so fun esp at 5 pm with the sun setting and starts/planets on the way down! But service was a bit slow. Food was mediocre. I had asked about vegetarian food in advance and was reassured but then I was left picking from apps/sides. Salad wayyyy overdressed. From when we ordered our food to when we got our entrees was def too long. Vibe is a bit stuffy. And I legit do not think pasta with butter sauce should cost greater than 20$ on kids menu (my kids have better palates than that so no way would I order .. but seems offensive!)

We had previously dined at Zach’s cabin in March. Food was amazing, service was excellent. We decided to bring our family and friends back and had an 800 reservation. We waited 20 minutes before ordering drinks, another 40 minutes before our drinks arrived and 60 minutes before ordering our apps and entrees. Again we had an 800 reservation. It became very clear the restaurant was understaffed so we were patient. Our fondu platter was delivered to the wrong table which only further delayed our dining experience. When we ordered another round of drinks, wine and beer, that took 30 minutes. After inquiring about the status of our entrees several times we finally received them. The $80 elk loin was ice cold winter green salad was overdressed. When we expressed our concerns overall, with the exception of one sever, the staff responded rudely and offered to comp our meals and offered free desert. No thank you. I am incredibly disappointed that we had this experience and will not be going back. Future diners beware.

We really enjoyed Zachs Cabin! The food and service were amazing, and it was a fun ride to the restaurant in a sleigh pulled by a snowcat! Highly recommend!

The view and atmosphere on their own justify a 5 star review. The quality of the food and service were added extras which also as standalone items justify a 5-star. The duck appetizer is one of the most complex and interesting appetizer dishes I have ever had. Elk entree absolutely fantastic. Kind service. Bronson toom great care of us and was obviously passionate about the food and experience he provided. Wouldn't miss this place - absolutely great experience!

Loved this place! It was a great experience. Prices comparable with the area and the service from the ride up the mountain to the servers were wonderful

We couldn't have had a better experience! Our ride up the mountain on the snowcat was awesome! We were immediately greeted by their team and they even had the red carpet rolled out! Our server, Kayt was exceptional! We are a family of 6 and she was incredibly friendly, professional, fun, patient and took time to explain all of the entrees and appetizers we were considering. All of our meals were amazing! The fondue appetizer, the filet and short ribs were our favorites...The old fashion is pretty awesome too!! We would highly recommend this one of a kind experience!
