The bartender Jacob was rude! Celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday and her first time at a casino was embarrassing! I find it concerning when he dumped her and her sister " complementary" drinks. He yelled at them and his waitress who was going to serve them. As guest at the hotel I would expect better, we spend alot of money at the hotel, restaurants and casino and as guest I would've hope to have a better experience for her.

Absolutely the best hotel in Blackhawk. Clean and you can tell someone took the time when renovating this hotel. Elevators definitely need attention. Loved the staff and the Starbucks within the hotel. I would describe recommend this place out of all the properties in Blackhawk

Quick little getaway that makes me have to ask, what kind of mattress did I sleep on and where can I buy it? The room was fantastic, pillows are great, food was tasty in the Fireside Grill. Need more signage in the garage so people like me don't circle level 5 twice. Tell me where to get a mattress like I slept on in 2906 and you'll be forgiven.

All of the staff here were respectful approachable and friendly from the security officer at the elevator bank tk the slot attendant who helped me with my card even the food service team member who helped me place my order on my phone as the cashier was off for the evening!

Good visit with a few hiccups, tho! Long line & wait to get checked in to our room - over an hour. Why only have one person working the desk? Sometimes another person would come & help but then disappear. Just a bit frustrating.

Unless you are betting large, it’s a waste of money. Experience is not even fun, food options are limited due to lack of staffing. Workers are nice to the big tippers but have a different response if you just need assistance.

Staff was very friendly and the rooms are very clean. Plenty of video poker machines and table games. I wish they had a snack bar to get a quick bite such has a hot dog. No snack bar only a small restaurant open when I visited on a Wednesday night.

One thing I have always rated high about Ameristar is how awesome the dealers, servers and cash cage staff have been professional. The poker room dealers are top notch and make everyone comfortable. I will say go to Ameristar for going on 7 years. Always a good vibe. I have some good nights winning on the slots, nothing to memorable at the tables tbh.but, it's time to remodel i think the book looks great could be better but the casino floor needs a new look. It's old. Notheless it's a good time. Room comps are great, free play about average and staff and personnel are top notch.

We love driving to Black Hawk on weekdays because it's just an hour drive from our house. It's a fun place yet quiet. There's not much to do in the town other than enjoy the hotel or go hiking nearby. We had a great time at the Ameristar because there's plenty to do. The casino's great, they had a couple of really good a la carte restaurant, another restaurant where you order to go and is open until 4am and a sports bar where we watched the hockey game. The a la carte restaurant only open from Thursday to Sunday though. We also love the spa, they have a great 24 hours fitness center that is usually empty and a nice pool with indoor and outdoor hot tubs. The building is 34 floors high and beautiful. And the staff is friendly and accommodating. Great place to enjoy a weekend.

The Ameristar is kept very clean in the gaming area as well as the restroom. Sadly, there are not enough servers for drinks and the machines are extremely tight. I have been there 3 times and it has been the same each time. I did spend the night in a room last October and it was really nice and enjoyable. There are too many casinos to choose from to put up with machines this tight.

An excellent, well-located, clean and friendly casino. I mistakenly tipped the server $50 for a beer instead of the intended $5. She returned shortly after to verify that was what I meant to do. I never would have expected that. What a Nice person!

The setting in the Colorado mountains in beautiful. Safety is never an issue, nor is friendliness. Payouts need improvement as does service. I know times are hard in the service industry but gambling payouts and service is a MUST. I overall don’t expect to win but I do expect not to lose so quickly. I expect my day to be somewhat entertaining just like going to a show or ballgame. I spend my money at those events and I’m entertained!

Very nice casino. The rooms are the best. We always have a great time when we go to the Ameristar I especially like the table games the best. We definitely will be back again and again, in my opinion, they have the best comps in town. Thank you.

We chose this hotel because of the Choice Rewards program because we frequently visit the casinos in Missouri and already have members cards and points racked up so this visit would earn credits with the same program. Our room was nice enough except for the stained carpet in front of the nightstand (looked like red wine) and it smelled faintly of mold. There was a big dirty handprint on the lamp shade on the nightstand that is hard to miss. Bathroom was large with 2 sinks and the toilet separate so we could both be getting ready at the same time. Full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower but I didn’t know until I was already in the shower our first day there that the body wash dispenser was completely empty. The casino was way too hot with all of the fireplaces burning. We were already having a hard time adjusting to the difference in altitude and feeling short of breath and dehydrated. The combination of too much heat and no humidity makes a person very thirsty but the beverage station on the first floor was out of order and the other one on the second floor was out of ice all day. Alcohol is free and there was a lady walking around taking orders but we weren’t in the mood for drinking and we were able to get bottled water from her. Our biggest problem, however, was only one of their restaurants was open the entire time we were there. My fault for not checking online beforehand I guess but we were there the week of spring break (Sunday night to Thursday night). After a little research later, I saw that most of the restaurants in the area and some of the other casino restaurants have limited hours and it’s not unusual for them to only be open Thursday through Saturday or Sunday. The restaurant that was open at Ameristar (Fireside Kitchen) was overpriced and service was slow as there was only one server working the only time we ate there. We had a rental car so we were able to drive to regular restaurants in nearby Central City and Idaho Springs for the rest of our stay. There is a free shuttle to and from the other casinos so we could have done without the rental car but we flew to Denver and then drove an hour to Black Hawk. I was under the impression that there is free transportation from Denver airport to Black Hawk but there isn’t as far as I can tell. Lastly, neither of us won a dime in the Ameristar casino (slots) and after wasting several hundred dollars each, we decided to gamble at some of the other nearby casinos for the remainder of our stay. We highly recommend the Monarch and plan to stay there next time.

I was bitten by bugs from staying in the rooms. The bites eventually got infected and caused an infection in my blood. Ameristar has done nothing to show me that they cared. Other than take pictures of my bites
