Definitely a quantity over quality experience here. There is a wide selection of foods. Unfortunately most of them are not very good, especially for the entry price. The steaks did not have much flavor to them, and the Herb flavored steak was very chewy. The saving grace was how much crab we got with a ticket. Not the best crab we've had, but definitely decent for a buffet. Tried the mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes which were both bland. The salmon was also somehow bland, the sauce topping it brought out a little bit of taste, but was pretty much inedible. The black bean pork from the Asian station was probably the only actually great food (short of the desserts), and that was a smidge salty too.

People kept telling use this buffet was good. It is not. Do not come here if you have other options. Lan Yap's down the road would be my choice for actually good food (and cheaper!)

It’s good but not for 65.00 a person. If there making that much money why can’t they have all you can eat crab legs, because they get cold so fast so either eat them first or last but definitely not spread apart because cold crabs are not that great!

The food was really good. Crab was cooked good the lobster tail was ify..... first time there did not know what all the extra tickets were so was just like ok. Our server nor the cashier told us nothing about those tickets. We found out when my boyfriend went up there for crab legs and they asked for a ticket. We had no idea till someone in line told us. After that was fine.

We visited there for lunch on Wednesday. The food was quite good, and there were plenty of options to choose from. Considering the affordable price of around $30, it was a great deal.

Any complaints about any aspect of this buffet must surely be from picky people. The variety is tremendous, and the cost is more than fair--the equivalent to a few minutes of play in the casino, except you're actually getting great food. Really delicious food!

I've seen people stand and look at the food display that goes on and on and say there isn't enough. Or, they get a delicious slice of rib roast and gripe that they have to get up to go get another slice instead of having it brought to them. The common trait seems to be geezeritis: Just gripe to be griping. I'm in that age bracket, but thank goodness I recognize good food, good service, and a fun place to enjoy a wide variety of everything you could want.

There are other places in the Monarch to eat instead of the buffet. But I love the buffet and consider it the main part of the fun of Blackhawk.

We were a bit disappointed tonight.
Lobster and crab legs were super over salted.
Out of our 6 tickets for crabs and lobsters, we only used 2.
We were there last year and the food tasted much better. Might be a new trick to make people eat less and drink more water.

Although the wait time for a table was difficult to deal with, I enjoyed my dinner here. They had a variety of options to choose from. Their crab legs and lobster special was amazing. I hope to come back again one day!

Food is outstanding! Very delicious! Our family enjoyed the experience! All of us were smiling when we left The Buffet! We will definitely be back here!

Beautiful space, terrible service (LT) never once came back to our table to provide refills or check on us. Also, the lobster lady on (10/21/2024) would not cut your lobster tail in half if you didn’t tip her. Shady practices.

Very dry food was disappointed how they allow it to sit out and just dry up for instance, the lobster tails were so dry the meat wouldn't even peel off and I wanted to try it but that ruined my meal probably wont be back

The Buffet at the Monarch Casino is awesome! From the service to the food to the atmosphere, they got it all down! The price is a bit steep at ~$60/person for dinner on the weekends, but the quality and variety of food is decent for the price.

First off, the queen of the buffet, or any buffet in my opinion, are the lobster tail and snow crab. When you pay, 2 redemption coupons are handed per person; one for a lobster tail and one for 2 snow crab clusters. Although this may seem like it is not much, it really is plenty of food unless the plan is to only eat lobster and snow crab (please refer to attached picture). The pho station is ok and the prime rib was very salty, but other than those two, everything else tasted great.

Service is top notch. Our server checked in on us and cleaned up our discarded lobster/crab remains very quickly and frequently. Make sure to tip your servers even at buffets!

Spent $117 for 2 people on a Tuesday. Got 2 tickets each for crab legs or lobster. The lobster was so dry, wish we got double crab. Overall the food was probably the best buffet I've personally had. But I usually go to golden coral so that's not saying much. Service was quick and friendly. Id say the highlights were the prime rib and dessert bar. The fresh gelato was awesome!

Went here for a farewell dinner for our friends. We ask to seat together but was told there was no seat available for our group. We ask if they could put us on a table next to each other to no avail. We are willing to wait anyway if they had just told us. And also they told us that they could do that but after a minute or two they told our friends to follow them and was put on another table very far away. We didn’t go there just to eat but to bond and talk to our friends over dinner cause we might not see them again. But they made no effort at all and we saw a lot of empty tables .

Visited the buffet at The Monarch with high expectations as we have visited similar high-end buffets. The most disappointing items were almost everything other than the crab and lobster which were very average at best. The preperation quality of the lobster was lacking. The other items were what you would expect at a low end buffet in Vegas. Desserts were average but very limited.

Definitely not the Bacchanal or Wynn. I would not recommend. Honestly the Golden Corral has much better options for the price. I’m embarrassed to eat here at “the buffet” monarch again. It’s not exclusive enough and their are to many ghetto people and other riff raff. Monarch should raise the price to $180.

Kid-friendliness: Definitely not kid friendly. Trashy and ghetto.
