Nothing impressive. We had a full dinner and I expected a bit more from this place

I reserved a table for 12 friends on a Saturday for lunch and we had such a lovely time and ate so well. The service was amazing--the server could not have been nicer or more accommodating. And the food was first-class: generous portions, fab flavors. This is going to become my go-to for elegant entertaining.

Tonight was our first night here and food was excellent. We had a slight snafu with service but Colin (the floor manager) went above and beyond to make it right for us. For his service alone, we will be back and would recommend this restaurant to others. Thanks again Colin! We appreciate you!

This is based off policy alone. No takeout orders?! It’s my 40th birthday and I had major hip surgery. I can’t go in person and this is the only thing I wanted. I’m half French and always get French food on my birthday. They couldn’t make a single exception. You’ve lost my business and will go elsewhere moving forward. Who doesn’t do takeout in 2026 anyway? So weird.

In the year 2025, on the very last day of the calendar, I found myself at Brasserie Ten Ten. This is a place where people go to act out the beautiful, complicated ritual of being French, even if they were actually born in places like Texas or Utah.

Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.

The Manifest
I began my intake with Bacon Wrapped Dates. They were sweet and smokey, like a secret shared in a burning library. Then came the Olive Frites. They were salty and crisp, and they disappeared quickly, much like the hopes of a young recruit on his way to the front.

There were Oysters and Shrimp Cocktail, too. They tasted of the cold, indifferent sea—which is exactly how a crustacean ought to taste if it wants to be taken seriously.

I also consumed a Crepe with Brie and Tomato. It was thin and delicate, like the promises made by politicians. But unlike a politician's promise, the Brie was actually there, and it was delicious. Alongside it sat a tasty little hamburger. It was a compact, beefy miracle. If the Great Architect of the Universe had intended for us to be vegetarians, He wouldn't have made cows out of steak and tucked them into such charming buns.

The Lubrication
I drank a Gin Martini. It was clear and cold and honest. It contained Blue Cheese Olives, which are little biological miracles of mold and salt. When you bite into one, you realize that while life is often a series of unfortunate accidents, someone, somewhere, decided to put stinky cheese inside a fruit and drop it into bathtub gin.

The Closing Argument
The restaurant was full of people looking at each other and hoping for the best. That is what New Year’s Eve is for—to hope that the next lap around the sun involves more crepes and fewer catastrophes.

The service was magnificent. The floor was level. The air was full of the smell of butter and optimism.

If you are a human being with a digestive tract and a sense of wonder, you should go there. It is a very good place to be a person.

Our waitress and the rest of the staff were kind and wonderful. It was busy when we were there, but our waitress never had us feel neglected.
I was also super impressed with the cheif who made two special sauces to accommodate my food allergy.

Brasserie might have the best happy hour in Boulder! It's been a favorite of my wife and I since a friend gave us a gift certificate. The wine list is extensive. The salad Nicoise and fish dishes are excellent. They have Chimay Belgian beers. The outdoor seating is excellent for people watching. See you there!
